God’s amazing grace has been and continues to be showered upon us. Week by week we have been blessed to experience numerous victories here at First Baptist from the hand of our Father. People being
baptized and people joining our church have encouraged all of us during these summer days.

Expectancy continues to grow regarding the Men’s Night Out venture scheduled for August 1 here at First Baptist. Hank Parker, expert fisherman/sportsman and Fred Luter will be our guest speakers in this event. The Limestone Baptist Association has granted us the privilege to host this event again. Our “Men of Courage” ministry has been meeting and planning and praying for weeks regarding this endeavor. It is my sincere prayer and personal request that every man,
age 12 and above, buy a ticket(s) and bring two or three friends to this remarkable event.

Summer Sunday School needs your support. During vacation season it is even more important that every person be present as often as they can possibly be present. Sunday School is the church organized. Therefore, as goes the Sunday School, so goes the Church. So let me encourage you to make Sunday School and Worship an every week priority. Do it intentionally. I think some of us might be surprised if we checked our own attendance patterns in Sunday School and Worship. Let’s do our best to strengthen our church by attending and participating as consistently and faithfully as we
possibly can.

We are the body of Christ. What an affirmation! What a privilege! What a responsibility! We are not a collection of individuals. We are inextricably tied together. We are more tightly connected than super glue. We are bonded as His body and He is our head. Together we are to do what we do as He directs us in one heart, one mind, in one accord.
PRAISE HIS NAME!
God loves you and so do we,
Brother Edwin and Joan

Summer Giving at FBC Thank you for making financial stewardship a high priority in your personal life. You are already aware that financial challenges are greatly increased for churches during the months
of summer.
A significant number of our people are already making giving a high priority. All of us are encouraged to keep up such a
worthy and appropriate Christian practice.
If for some reason you have missed a gift or two, be encouraged to make those gifts up. Your dedication and willing-ness to give and even to give sacrificially will be rewarded in
personal peace and in the joy of faithful obedience.
And, there is no better t ime than right now to be
intentional and definite in your giving patterns.

Mission Trip Mission Trip Mission Trip Mission Trip ---- August 2014August 2014August 2014August 2014
August 5-16, FBC Athens will have a team of six on a mission trip to Israel to support the Nazareth Baptist School, a Christian school in Jesus’ hometown.
The school holds a variety of summer activi-ties for children and youth, and our team will support the summer camp for 6th and 7th graders at the Baptist Village near Petah Tik-vah. (In the 1990s, Bobby Austin helped with construction work at the Baptist Village.)
Local camp volunteers anticipate 80-100 young people will attend this camp, the largest of their summer camps. Most of the youth are unsaved; many received Christ at last year’s camps.
Our team consists of Jan Morris, Amber Glaze, Stan Young, Don Foss, Greg Glaze, and Furney Wood.
We will provide a variety of services to include morning devo-tions for counselors and youth, teaching American praise songs to the students, supporting Bible studies and worship sessions, leading in night time devotions, helping in the kitchen, and teaching/supporting recreation and free time activities.
