RECIPROCATING PUMPS & SYSTEMS
Goma has a significant experience in designing, manufacturing, installing and servicing
of high pressure pumps having power ratings upto 1300HP (1000 KW), discharge upto
3000 LPM (180 M3/Hr) and operating pressures upto 28000 PSI (2000 Bar). The pump
packages have options to choose from either electric motor or engine driven coupled by
pulley or gear box, mounting on base frame/ plate, trolley or trailer
depending on the application and industry demands.
The pumps are robust in construction, designed for intermittent or
continuous duty cycles as per API 674, Hydraulic Institute and IS 11745.
High pressure accessories for safety, parameters measurement and
cleaning/ jetting are available as per specific usage.
Notes:
• Each pump series having different plunger /
piston sizes to accommodate desired
parameters. Discharge volumes indicated are
based on 100% volumetric efficiency with water.
• Ratings given are based on nominal speeds and
pressures; they may vary with our written
approval. Pumps offered as per API 674 will be
governed by speed limit as per standard.

GOMA PUMPSFeatures of the Reciprocating Pump
Crankcase: High grade cast iron, rugged construction to take maximum
load capacity. Top open design for higher models, easy maintenance and
reassembling.
Crankshaft: High carbon or alloy steel crankshaft having hardened
toughness and high endurance limit and ground crank pins. Two rollers/
taper bearings have been provided for crankshaft supports. Reversible in
Power Frame for drive input from either of side of pump for most models.
Connecting Rod: Heavy duty SG Iron casted with separate bolted caps.
It consists split antifriction bearings of steel with Babbitt lined inner
surfaces.
Crosshead with Extension Rod: MOC of SG iron duly machined and
ground surfaced. Extension rod chrome plated from corrosion and wear
resistance.
Wrist Pin: Carbon steel having case hardening and ground surface
operating against a sintered bronze bushing.
Plunger Coupling: Split design for decoupling the extension rod and
plunger/ piston rod from each other.
Plunger Packing: These are either square braided rope type/ chevron/
v-ring type depending on the application located inside the stuffing box.
They can be self adjusted/ spring loaded type.
Stuffing Box: MOC of stainless steel/ carbon steel as per requirement of
applications and liquid to be pumped. It consists of various types of plunger
seals, space rings, lantern ring, grid bush, etc.
Locking Nut: MOC of stainless steel/ carbon steel. Main purpose of this
is to hold the internal parts of stuffing box, assembly and also used for
removing of internal parts of stuffing box assembly for maintenance
purpose.
Oil Seal Retainer: Oil Seal retainer is housing for
oil seals for extension rod of crossheads. Easily
removable type.
Air Breather: A metallic thread cap provided on
top cover of pump. It is provided as vent to remove
hot air, gases from crankcase.
Fluid Cylinder: Suitable for liquid to be pumped.
Design suitable to API 674 made out of stainless
steel/ carbon steel/ forged block, provision of front
and top covers for removing of valve assemblies.
Suction Manifold: Separate suction manifold as
per the application made of either cast iron/ cast
steel/ fabricated/ forged block option available.
These may either have flange threaded connection.
In some models this is integrated with fluid cylinder.
Suction/Discharge Assembly: Press fitted
valve assemblies having various types of valves and
valve seats options suitable to applications. Valve
type can be plate/ ball/ wing as per liquid
properties.
Plunger: Stainless steel/ Carbon steel with hard
chrome/ various coatings to protect plunger
working surfaces for long life of plunger and plunger
seals.

APPLICATIONS FOR OIL & GASThe Reciprocating Pumps are used in variety of applications in the Oil & Gas Industries for continuous an intermittent duty cycles. For the
continuous duty applications the pumps are designed as per API 674.
Salt Water / Effluent Water injection Pumps:
Water injection is where water is injected into the oil field, usually to increase pressure and thereby stimulate production. Water injection wells can be found both on- and offshore, to increase oil recovery from an existing reservoir.
Crude Oil Start Up/ Dispatch (COD) Pumps:
CODP are used to handle crude oil from the wellhead to gathering and processing facilities and from there to refineries & tanker loading facilities. Also for restart rocking & slop transfer applications at pump stations.
Well Servicing:
Well servicing pump packages are specifically designed for traditional well service applications such as acidizing, fracturing, cementing, well killing and other well simulation treatments.
Mobile Pumping Unit:
MPU is a versatile pumping unit used for flushing of flow lines, oil/ water circulation in the well, hydro testing of flow lines, oil transfer, pumping fluids for CTU/ hot oil jobs, killing the well to stop uncontrolled flow, etc.
Triplex Mud Pump:
Triplex mud pump is designed to circulate drilling fluid on drilling rig under high pressure up to 5000 psi at 1300 HP, drilling fluid passes through the drilling bit for assisting in breaking the rock and back up the annulus.
Condensate Transfer Pumps:
Hydrocarbon condensate transfer from HP/LP flare knock out drums or hazardous effluents from a closed drain tank. Fluids are collected from a variety of sources before transfer back to the main process for recovery and disposal.
Wash Water Injection:
In refineries our pumps are used to absorb and prevent the loss of amine vapours, pumps are specially designed with Pot seal design for stuffing box to entrap the leakage of gases from the stuffing box.
Glycol / Amine Circulation Pumps:
Used in natural gas drying process where ethanol/glycol are used as anti-freezing agents and pumped into an absorber and flow counter to the moist gas. Also amine is pumped into the similar process for removing H2S & Co2.
Hot Oil Circulation (HOC):
Refineries uses pumps at for handling handle hydrocarbon at relatively low flow rates and pressure upto 4000PSI and high temperatures up to 700 0F, these pumps are specially designed to handle high temperature fluids
Blow Out Preventer (BOP) Charging:
The rams driven by a hydraulic oil to seal the well if excessive pressure threatens to blow the well out pressure from a charged accumulator, charging maintained by a triplex pump for accumulator charging / maintaining upto 3000 psi.
Hydro-testing/ Filling/ Flushing Pump Packages:
Heavy duty Pump packages for cross country pipeline testing including filling, flushing and hydro test are offered. Customize packages for well testing are offered to meet customer specific requirements.
Water Jetting Units:
Water jetting units are used in under water marine growth cleaning, tank/ vessel cleaning, heat exchanger/ condenser tube decoking, cleaning of heavy oil field vehicles, surface preparation before painting and radiator cleaning.
