In the company of your guide, follow the road from the coast through the Loup Valley, discovering the charms of Medieval Provence. Start in the perched village of Haut-de-Cagnes, a magnet for artists with its towering Grimaldi castle and cobbled steps, then continue to Saint-Paul-de-Vence. Once a stronghold on the French border, the village is now known for its art galleries, charming stone buildings, and gastronomic restaurants. In Tourrettes-sur-Loup, a centre for the region’s violet production, explore narrow streets populated by craftsmen, sampling local products along the way. A side road leads you to les Courmettes, “land of herds”; stop at a local goat farm to taste its organic cheese. During the Roaring Twenties, a generation of American writers and artists left the US for Europe; for more than a decade, many considered France their second home. Spend the day in the company of your guide discovering the many facets of the famous coastal city of Cannes. Get an early start to the day to browse through the Marché Forville, one of the region’s best food and flower markets. Stroll along the glamorous Croisette, with its palm tree lined streets, luxury designer boutiques, and legendary Palais des Festivals. Climb the winding cobbled streets to Le Suquet, the old town, to take in the splendid view over the city and Mediterranean sea, then return to port for your 20-minute ferry crossing to the Île Saint-Honorat, the second largest of the Lérins Islands. Spend the day discovering the “other” Riviera, just across the border in bella Italia. The Ponant Riviera was once seen as a continuation of the French Riviera, and the seaside town of Bordighera attracted kings and queens from all over Europe. This luxurious 19th century resort still boasts an impressive collection of elegant villas, hotels, and gardens, each more impressive than the next, while its charming old town sleeps lazily in the sun. After exploring the coastline, drive into the hills of the backcountry to discover the picturesque perched village of Dolceacqua, with its bridge that enchanted Monet, and take time for a leisurely lunch based on local Ligurian specialities. After lunch, return towards France, stopping in the sun-drenched town of Menton, renowned for its annual citrus festival. Time France is 6 hours ahead of Eastern Daylight Time in the United States. (10 a.m.

in US = 4 p.m. in France.) Times are generally indicated in a 24-hour clock, e.g. 14:00 instead of 2 p.m., 19:00 instead of 7 p.m., etc.

UsingPhonesinFrance

French phone numbers consist of 10 digits, all beginning with 0. Generally speaking, numbers starting with 06 and 07 are cell phones, while other numbers are specific to a region (for instance, 01 for Paris numbers, 04 for South of France numbers). The country code for France is 33.

To call French numbers from the US (or from some US cell phones), dial 011

(international access) + 33 (French country code) + the nine digit phone number, dropping the initial 0.

To call a French number within France, drop the country code and dial the 10-

digit number, including the initial 0. To call US numbers from France, dial 001 + the area code + the phone number. For example, when dialling the number +33 6 33 28 59 24, dial 06 33 28 59 24

BasicPhrases Phrases like "Bonjour" (Hello), "Merci" (Thank you), "S'il vous plait" (Please) and "Pardon" (Excuse me) are essential. Never walk into a store, restaurant or another place of business without first saying, "Bonjour" to the proprietor, your server or the person at the counter. Failure to do so is seen as a personal affront in France.

Electricity French electricity runs at 220 volts and 50 cycles. Appliances from the US that are not battery-operated will need an adapter and transformer.

Gratuities Generally speaking, tips are included (service compris) in the final bill at

restaurants and cafés (unless the invoice states service non compris). However, it is customary to leave an additional gratuity. The following are suggested tipping guidelines, subject to the quality of service received:

CaféWaiter/Waitress When paying for a coffee or beverage, leave the change or round up to the

nearest whole figure on the total bill.



RestaurantServer If the service is included but exceeded your expectations, leave 5-10% of the total

bill or round the bill up to the nearest whole figure. Optionally, leave €1 to €2 per every €20.

CoatCheck An optional tip of €1 is appropriate

Bartender Leave the change or round up to the nearest whole figure on the total bill for

drinks.

Guide An optional tip of 10% is appropriate, depending on the level of service.

Taxis Tips are not expected, but you can round up or offer 5 per cent of the final fare if the driver helped with your luggage.

Doorman Tip €1 if the doorman helped hail a cab or brings in your luggage.

Bellhop €1 to €2 per bag, depending on size.

Housecleaning Leave a tip in your room of €1 to €2 per day. While not obligatory, it is a

considerate way to thank the housekeeping staff.

Concierge If the concierge goes above and beyond with helping you book reservations, giving you directions, and providing insider recommendations, it’s considerate to tip €5 to €10.

Hairdresser/Beautician Tip 10 per cent tip of the total cost.

Shopping Most larger grocery stores and department stores are open from 9 a.m. (or

earlier) until 7 or 8 p.m. (sometimes later in summer). Smaller stores may close during the lunch period, from as early as noon until 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. Many stores are closed on Sunday, while stores that are open through the weekend tend to close on Monday.

Most grocery stores no longer provide shopping bags free of charge. You may

bring your own bags, or purchase paper, plastic, or reusable bags at the store.

Markets Every town and village in France has a specified open-air “market day” during the week, where you can find everything from clothing and household goods to specialty food products and flowers. Check with your hotel or the local tourist office to find out the day of the market where you are staying.

Pharmacies Pharmacies in France carry a large range of prescription and non-prescription

drugs as well as personal care products. Pharmacists in France are highly trained and are an excellent resource for medical advice if a doctor is not available. Most pharmacies are closed on Sundays and many close during the lunch period. However, every town or community is required to have a pharmacie de garde, designated on a rotating basis, that is open on Sundays, holidays, and outside of normal business hours. Lists of the nearest pharmacies de garde are posted in every pharmacy and also available online.

TermsandConditions

DEPOSITS The payment of a deposit is required in order to reserve any tour or service proposed by Andy Swann Voyage. An itinerary is not considered confirmed until a deposit payment has been made on all tours and services in the itinerary, including guide services.

Unless otherwise specified, a non-refundable initial deposit of 20% of the total

cost of the itinerary is due upon receipt of the Deposit Invoice (or the Invoice if paying in full).

A payment of a deposit indicates an acceptance of all the terms and conditions

below by the purchaser and/or Client.

PAYMENTS All itineraries must be paid in full at least 30 days before the start of the tour or service.

Itineraries booked 30 days or less before the start of a tour or service must be

paid in full at the time of booking; this payment is non-refundable as per the Cancellation and Refund policy below.

For itineraries booked more than 30 days before the start of a tour or service,

where the 20% deposit has already been paid, the payment of the remaining 80% of the total cost of the itinerary must be made at least 30 days before the starting date of the tour or service.

AdditionalFees Unless explicitly stated in the itinerary as pre-paid or included, all tickets,

entrance fees, meals, gratuities and other incidental expenses are the responsibility of the Client and will either be (1) paid by the Client on site or (2) invoiced to the Client upon the completion of travel, with payment due upon receipt of the invoice.

Driver guide services are based on either a half-day rate (up to 4 hours) or a full-

day rate (from 4 hours to a maximum 8 hours). Additional hours are charged at the rate of EUR 150/hour, calculated as full hours from the first 15 minutes of overtime and invoiced to the client upon completion of the service, with payment due upon receipt of the invoice.

Driver services are based on a rate of EUR 150/hour for a minimum of 5 hours.

Additional hours are charged at the rate of EUR 150/hour, calculated as full hours from the first 15 minutes of overtime and invoiced to the client upon completion of travel, with payment due upon receipt of the invoice.

RESERVATIONS Andy Swann Voyage will make reservations on behalf of the client for third-

party services such as restaurants, yachts and transfers. In order to secure the booking, the client must provide a valid credit card as a guarantee of payment for all requested services.



CANCELLATIONSAND

REFUNDSIn the event of the cancellation of an itinerary by the Client, refunds will be made based on a percentage of the total cost of the tour/itinerary as shown below:

Refunds will under no circumstance be issued to those failing to join their tour,

or for tour accommodation or any other services not utilized, or for a partially completed vacation.

All venue visits and activities proposed in this itinerary are subject to

availability on the date of travel. In the event that a venue visit or activity is not possible on the date/time indicated, Andy Swann Voyage will reschedule the activity or substitute a similar activity

Andy Swann Voyage reserves the right to cancel any tour or service in the event

of force majeur or other circumstances beyond our control. In the event of a cancellation by Andy Swann Voyage, no liability shall fall upon Andy Swann Voyage.

In the case of a cancellation of a service provided by a third-party provider (such

as a restaurant reservation or driver transfer), the client is liable for any cancellation fee imposed by the service provider in addition to any cancellation fee imposed by Andy Swann Voyage.

PAYMENTTERMS Andy Swann Voyage accepts the following form of payment:

PRICES/EXCHANGERATES Pricing for activities and services is subject to change until the itinerary is

confirmed and paid in full. Pricing is also subject to change without notice in the event of circumstances

beyond our control, such as currency fluctuations, government taxes, fuel costs etc.

All prices are quoted in Euros and must be paid in Euros.

VALIDITY All Pricing, Terms and Conditions described in this document are effective immediately and valid until further notice.
