EUROPE TOUR 2K17

March 6, 2017 was the day when 12

students and 5 faculty members from

International Institute of Management

Studies boarded their journey to the most

awaited trip of the year. The trip

included 4 places: San Sebastian, Paris,

Barcelona and Madrid.

The genesis of the tour began with one of

the scenic beauties of the world, San

Sebastian, followed by the City of

Wonders “Paris”. Then went to the place

known more for its clubs than the city i.e.

Barcelona. In the end, the journey took

them to the Capital of Spain, Madrid.

The trip was a blend of fun and

knowledge. Students visited various

industries such as Basque Culinary

Centre, Parke, Micron,

Saneamientos/Orkli, Mondragon,

Danobat, Design it and Impact Hub. Each

company had a different set of teaching to

offer to students. Students gathered new

and diverse information about

international working environment.

The other major take home from the trip

was differences in culture, food, clothing

etc.

With the completion of the month i.e. March

31st International Institute of Management

Studies got appraisal by getting ranked as

one of the top Private Management Institutes

in Western India by Dainik Jagran Josh

group ,The institute received award with the

hands of Mr Upendra Khushwaha ( Minister

of State for HRD) in gracious presence of

renowned writer Mr Chetan Bhagat .

Student Corner

These 2 weeks were

memorable not just because

of the fun, but also because

of the large bulk of

experiences in each second

and that is what makes this

trip a lifelong memory!

GLOBAL IT COMMUNE

“Technology and Management trends Prediction 2020”

International Institute of Management Studies organised Global IT Cummune on 25th March 2017.

The meet was inaugurated with the melodious voice of Mrs. Bhanu Shankar who sang a

motivational song. Director General, SBES Dr. Amarendra Sahoo welcomed all with his speech.

Dr. Shankar Ramamoorthy, Convener- GIC presented welcome note “way of disrupting industry-

academia collaboration”. The key note address was delivered by Mr. Tarun Sharma, CEO, BMC,

Software and Mr. Krishna Rajan, Executive Director Geo Spoc. There after series of presentations

given by various industry experts on the topics related to the objective of the GIC meet.

Mr. Surajit Das ( Managing Principal , Agile Miles Consulting) being the first to start followed by

Mr. Rahul Gangwal (Associate Vice President, Intellect Design Arena) on Design Thinking.

From Symbiosis Institute of Telecom Management ex-director Dr. Sunil Patil gave presentation on

IT and Management then Mr. Jaspal Singh (Practice head, Seed Infotech) came up with interesting

topic “Life skills at Tech Crazy Age”. Presentation on Block chain testing was given by Mr.

Yogesh Mokase and Vaibhav Karajgoankar from Cognizant Technologies. Next speaker was from

Tech Mahindra and from United Health Group. Ms. Priyadarshini and Mr. Amit Chourasia came

with the presentation on IT prediction and IT Trends as their respective topics. The last

presentation of the day was given by Kashmiri Sawant from CapGemini on the topic Big data

Hadoop.

Post presentations a Management Quiz was conducted for the students followed by Panel

Question-Answer round. The program got completed with the Valedictory address by the Founder

President SBES, Prof. Manish R. Mundada.

UAE TOUR 2K17

A group 18 of 1st year PGDM Retail students along with 2 faculty members went to a study tour to

UAE. The tour started on March 10 and continued till 16 March 2017

Students were taken to Abu Dhabi Grand

Mosque, Abhu Dhabi Fruit Market, Dubai

Museum, Dhow Cruise, Palm Jumeirah

Island, Palm Jumeriah Beach, Desert Safari,

Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab etc. To give

a feel of international retail environment,

students were taken to the biggest mall of

the world “The Dubai Mall”. Students learn

many real time lessons while visiting other

malls like, Mercato Mall, Ferrari World,

Dragon Mall, Alantis Mall, City Centre,

Deria Mall, Al Gurner Mall, Bhrjuman Mall

etc.
