Multimission serversMultimission Archives are AIS that give support a variety of astronomical data archives, with a primary focus on scientifically related data sets in specific spectral energy range (ie the optical, ultraviolet, and nearinfrared, etc.). In the case of USA, they are associated to NASA's distributed Space Science Data Services (SSDS).

Mission Statements: The staff of the multimission archives provide:
* worldwide technical and scientific leadership in archive system design * secure storage and reliable retrieval services for data from supported missions * userfriendly and scientifically useful search and crosscorrelation tools * development and support for interarchive communication and data transfer standards * accurate and useful mission archive documentation

Multimission servers: SSDSSSDS is a confederation of groups supported by NASA's Office of Space Science to provide public access to and to ensure the usability of science data from OSS missions and selected other data. Some SSDS groups develop tools and services for finding and using these data. Longterm data accessibility is ensured by SSDS archiving and preservation of the data.

SSDS Astrophysics pages include activities relating to the ''Search of Origins'' and ''Structure and Evolution of the Universe'' programs of NASA.
For example, they provide access to Astrophysics Software Tools...

Multimission serversAmong the most important Multimission Archives Servers
● High Energy Astrophysics Science Archive Research Center – HEASARC: is the primary archive for highenergy astronomy missions, in the extreme ultraviolet, Xray and gammaray wavelengths.
http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov● The NASA/IPAC Infrared Science Archive – IRSA: has transformed itself from the curator of the 2MASS data sets to a multimission archive for NASA's infrared and submillimeter (IR/SM) astronomy data.
http://irsa.ipac.caltech.edu● Multimission Archive at Space Telescope – MAST: supports a variety of astronomical data archives, with a primary focus on scientifically related data sets in the optical, ultraviolet, and nearinfrared parts of the spectrum.

Multimission servers: HEASARC
● HEASARC is the primary archive for highenergy astronomy missions, in the extreme ultraviolet, Xray and gammaray wavelengths. ● It gives support to ASCA – BeppoSAX – CGRO – Chandra – EUVE – GLAST – HETE2 – INTEGRAL – ROSAT – RXTE – AstroE2 – Swift – XMMNewton● These are all available freely for your use.

Multimission servers: HEASARC
The Browse provides access to the catalogs and astronomical archives of the HEASARC.
Also it provides batch mode access (for large queries), ftp service and space mission correlation.
It is associate a DataScope (NVO service) and SkyView (the next week)

Multimission servers: HEASARC
Through the Main Search Form is possible to access High Energy missions catalogs and linked to other missions and catalogs supported by other centres

Multimission servers: IRSAIRSA is the archive node for scientific data sets from NASA's infrared and submillimeter astronomy projects and missions.
This data server provides a huge amount of data:
60 source catalogs 22 image data sets7 spectroscopic data sets
from 6 projects and missions and is seamlessly interoperable with 10 remote archive and servers.

Multimission servers: IRSA
IRSA is one of the most integrated facility available.
Most famous services:
2MASSIRASISOSPITZER Space Obs.MSX
IRSA integrates to Sloan DSS DR3

Multimission servers: IRSAOASIS: IRSA provides multiarchive data integration software through JAVA tech
RADAR: an inventory and data exploration service.
ATLAS: a general data collection search service, specialized in specific data sets.GOODS: Great Obs. Origin Deep Surv.SWIRE: Spitzer WideArea IR Extragalac. Surv.Etc.(the next week more...)

Multimission servers: MASTMAST supports a variety of astronomical data archives, with a primary focus on scientifically related data sets in the optical, UV, and IR parts of the spectrum.
MAST provides a large suite of searches. In addition to customized searches for each mission, and provides several crossmission searches.
MAST also archives sets of HighLevel Science Products (HLSP).
ISYA 28th - 2005 Astronomical Databases & VOs
Multimission servers: MASTMAST provides access to a wide variety of space missions and also integrates ground based surveys (ie DSS, VLAFIRST, etc.).
MAST includes the most wonderful database: HUBBLE DATA ARCHIVE
Almost all data are in different flavors of FITS format. See the User's Guide and FITS Standard documents.
