Two Main Types Of Diabetes

There are 2 main types of diabetes:

Type 1 - Beta Cells Stop creating Insulin

Type 2 – Either Body does not create enough insulin or cells become insulin resistant

Type 1 Diabetes

• Type 1 diabetes is when the beta cells in the pancreas stop making insulin. The illness and symptoms develop quickly (over days or weeks) because the level of insulin in the bloodstream becomes very low.

• Type 1 diabetes used to be known as juvenile, early-onset, or insulin-dependent diabetes. It usually first develops in children or in young adults. Type 1 diabetes is currently treated with insulin injections and diet.

Type 2 Diabetes• With type 2 diabetes, the illness and symptoms tend to develop

gradually (over weeks or months). This is because in type 2 diabetes you still make insulin (unlike type 1 diabetes). However, you develop diabetes because:

• You do not make enough insulin for your body's needs; OR• The cells in your body do not use insulin properly. This is called

insulin resistance. The cells in your body become resistant to normal levels of insulin. This means that you need more insulin than you normally make to keep the blood glucose level down; OR

• A combination of the above two reasons.• Type 2 diabetes is much more common than type 1 diabetes 90%

of diabetes sufferers are type 2

Diabetes Kills

• Chronically high blood sugar levels causes nerve damage, which can result in kidney disease, blindness and amputation.

• It estimated that diabetes causes 4.6 million deaths every year and that health systems spend $465 billion annually fighting the disease.

Diabetes is a BIG Global Problem

• An estimated 371 million people worldwide now suffer from diabetes and the global epidemic is getting worse

• The International Diabetes Federation described the number of cases as "staggering," with one person dying from diabetes every seven seconds.

Diabetes Global Problem

Astragalus PolysaccharideStimulator For Insulin Production

Reverses the affects of diabetesThe pancreas is stimulated to recreate insulin into energy

Insulin injections through a course of a Astragalus Polysaccharide treatment will reduce.

On average after 6 months insulin injections will no longer be necessary

Insulin Sensitizer

Studies have found that Astragalus polysaccharide (APS) can regulate part of the insulin signaling in insulin-resistant skeletal muscle, and that APS could be a potential insulin sensitizer for the treatment of type 2 diabetes
