Pro-Line Boats Crystal River, FL Sept. 2000

The Pro-Line Boat manufacturing facility in West-Central Florida was plagued with numerous leaks. The main culprit was a roof sprinkling system used in an attempt to cool the fiberglass fabrication building.

This large pumping system was used to pump large amounts of water to the roof. This created rust and corrosion problems as well as compounding the leaking roof problem.

Roof had several roof fans that could not be used. The movement of air would have been a production and health problem from fiberglass fibers blowing around. The roof fans were re-moved. The roof also has many sky-lights.

Another one of three buildings the were treated with the Astec System

Temperatures inside the fabricating building were sometimes near 100 degrees.

All horizontal and vertical seams were repaired as needed and sealed. Skylights were sealed. Roof top fans were removed and new metal installed.

Employees said they could feel an immediate drop in the inside temperature as the coating was being applied.

Arrows indicate the three buildings receiving the Astec System. Pro-Line has since asked for a bid on their other facilities (Donzi) in south Florida.
