Intro..^_^In the age of the rapid increase in the amount of
information, the need to acquiring the essential skills to get the needed information as soon as possible became a real issue. The internet is a huge library that contain uncountable amount of information which may benefit the user or may not. The invention of the search engines facilitates searching for the information in this huge library (the internet) but there are some techniques that should be learned to increase the ease of the searching process using the search engines. On the other hand, ethically, we must mention the source of information to save the rights of others incase we used their intellectual property.

•Course description:In this course, students are taught some basic
IT skill.This project is an e-learning unit from the IT
curriculum for grade 6. In this unit students learn the following:
The basics about the search engines; Using the information from the website; Respecting the intellectual properties.

•Expected outcomes:At the end of this course, it’s expected that the student
should be able to:1. search a topic in a search engine (e.g. Google, About,
Ask, etc). 2. Use the different strategies of search engine (e.g. and,
or, etc)3. Identify how to copy and paste (transfer) information
from a webpage to the computer.4. Recognize the intellectual property rights low.5. Reference the information that s/he used in the simple
research by copying the website address to

•Audience: Grade 6 students in the Basic Education, Second Cycle

• Using 2 items from ACTIONS Model to evaluate the product. These items are:▫ Teaching & Learning Functions▫ Interactivity and User Friendliness

• course portfolio (students’ portfolio):using students records and teacher records of the course will
measure the following: Aims and objectives: are they clear? Were they achieved? Instructional materials: are they appropriate to achieve the
objectives? Are they clear enough to be used individually by students? Do students did their assignments?
Organization and strategies: was organization logical to 6 grade students? Were strategies used suitable to deliver this content?
Students achievement: what were students grades in this unit?
Evaluation Process• Interactivity and User Friendliness:
▫ Student rating :Surveys will be distributed to students to evaluate the following :
Navigation mechanism: easy? Clear? Working or not? Colors: harmony with their ages, interests, Interactivity: easy to interact with : teacher, students and
content? Branching: is it easy to follow the links or not? Is it easy to
move to the target page? Discussion boards: are they useful? Are they easy to use?
