Ancillary InspirationsBy Kaya Sumbland Rahel Fasil Gledis Dedaj Joanne ArodaAncillary Theme/Content

Implying the false interpretation and representation from mediaImplying the lack of identify and being faceless in the media but those of a higher powerShow the manipulation and brainwash from the media on how hegemonic they areShowing audience realisation, but little effect to changeFrightening image showing media to be demonic forcing audience to follow them, and manipulating is to participate Presenting our first episode where media is puppeteer of our societyImplying the lack of identify from the audience we are merely what they create of usShows a family fixed on social media emphasise how much we use, showing perfect way to control societyBlack and white shows lack of identify and with the TV head shows hegemony in the mediaLies come up more dominant than the news news is black and white showing lack of identity, life enforcing the one sided portrayal on it Mocking audiences minds for being a re-produce of what the media regurgitate. Implying again we are what the media make us of, and enforce onto usShowing audience to be a creation of the mediaAncillary Theme/Content

I like the theme of walking into a book could change and link to walking into TV or media where you become someone else or are manipulated in that worldThis seems like web 3.0, the web become omnipresent, where although out participation in media is stronger, it makes it easier for the industries to enforce ideologiesI like the double meaning in what she's written, implying media is like a dominator of the whole worldEnforces being manipulated and influenced by media and its ideologiesEnforcing the idea we are blind slaves to media, we participate and they control usShows all the news, ideologies, and other things on TV which pressure and enforce such a strong impact on society whereby it becomes too muchEnforce the faceless industry behind media, but also how participants on media become faceless in their identityShows dominance like hegemony where media dominate and manipulate the audiencePresenting our first episode where media is puppeteer of our societyShows lack of identify and with the TV head shows hegemony in the mediaFont Style

I like the broken text effect it could imply the separation of the media and its audience or the broken, and influenced mind of the audience from the mediaThe use of embedding images with mean or interpret texts as they are on social networking is probably more eye catching to a audience and will automatically show what our documentary will be aboutI like the simplistic times new roman font because its very common to use on blogs This font was used a lot in Web 1.0 sites and on notes on Microsoft so it would link to the web revolutionThe Facebook font would be good to use further if we write our statistics on Facebook, we would use this font, familiar to our audienceThis font from the iPad we could use because it links to the technological convergence part of our documentary show familiarity with out audienceFor the question on hegemony in the news, using bold big breaking new font would be good to gain audience attentionAgain this big bold font would be eye catching for readers it would seem important and dominate on the double page spreadPhotography Style

I like the grey colour scale in these three pictures, because it emphasises the lack of originality and audience influence on the media. It takes away any life in media portrays a darker and dull side, enforcing our point that info comes out, and not much really comes in.I like the way it seems like someone has graffiti on the wall it shows a understanding from the publicof media hegemony, and enforces that sense that we are blinded even though its right in front of usI like the way the newspapers have a grey scale effect, with the red lies on the top implying danger and the way it stands out above all the text the news give out make it seem obvious, yet we are still obliviousI like the way it looks as though it has been drawn then coloured in also the colours are quite dull and dark enforcing something not so good about the mediaI like the way the animation with the way they used a dark blue colour, creating an eerie and creepy atmosphere around this picture showing media and TV not as colourful and nice as it seemsLayout Design

Recurrent on all these spread they have the whole background as the image with text on topThis type of design I would want to put on my double page spreadThe placement of the title and preview to article on the top right corner is think is a nice way of laying out the spreadThey way the they had the title name on the side, put vertically not to distract but e read before the preview was effective in that senseHere they added images on top to show more angles of the car doesnt take away form the main image this could be an option if we wanted to add more than one imageSimilarly we could layout our title to show a meaning or connote something with media like Showdown and James Brown because it makes there article hint a story before readingText/Paragraph

Bold black drop quotes would be good to include on the double page spread as a preview to the subjects opinionI like the way the title is a different font to the paragraph text underneath I like the format of putting the large title directly above the preview paragraph to the article so you look at title then the articleThe use of colour coding in this paragraph would be able to highlight the major key in the article like here stands out the directors nameThe title here shelters the preview paragraph which looks more creative than the others- also our title is long so this could be something we would doThe symbolism of the B in the text applying to the preview below would be eye-catching for a titleThe manipulation of size to visually enforce the drama of something on the title creates more of an effect when beginning to read articleText Paragraph style

The old fashioned joined up writing emphasises a vintage feel.

The style consists of the paragraphs/text being at the bottom.Although the paragraphs are at the bottom which is quite simplistic they are still effective as the images lead your eyes down to the bottom of the page thus drawing more attention to what is written.Gledis DedajFont Style

The bulky text reminds people of campaign posters or army posters thus subliminally re-enforcing the importance.

The font style resembles similarities with the Twitter logo.

The font appears to be in a hand-written style. The font is simple and not very eye-catching. Gledis DedajImage connotations

Everything we do on the internet is being watched. The media single-handedly controls us.The media feeds us whatever it wants.

Out thoughts and opinions are shaped by a higher power.Social networking is as addictive as a drug.We have become so consumed with the media, its all we think about.A higher unknown power has a hold on society. It is society that fuels social media sites. We are shackled to our media addiction. We are trapped and cant break free.We are being fed lies that are covered up as the truth.Gledis DedajPhotography Style

The black and white effects makes it more dramatic and serious. The person is blurred emphasising their insignificance and the importance of social networking. The motion blur effect emphasises how much we can do at one time due to technological convergence. The black and white effect implies a sense of danger. Her identity is hidden emphasising her vulnerability. The brightness and white colours resemble a very cold and sterile atmosphere which reminds us of hospitals and illnesses, thus our addiction to media is an illness. You cannot see who's hand is caught thus implying we are all victims.Their hidden identity implies they are subjects to a higher power. The extreme close-up increases the intensity of addiction to social networking.Gledis Dedaj
