PRELIMINARY TASK

Steadiness task involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down on a chair opposite another character, with whom he/she then exchanges a couple of lines of dialogues. This task should establish match on action, shot revers shot and the 180- degree rule.

SUCCESSFUL EXAMPLE

Established shot, to show the audience where they are

Mid shot to show us his whole body

Close up shot of the top part of the boys body, to show that he is scared

i would give this group a level 3 as I think it is reasonable and had good bit.

POOR EXAMPLE

Camera was really fuzzy, and wasn’t clear

Bad match on action, as the action wasn’t matching, when he was opening the door, and stepped outside

Camera was moving, they should have used a tripod

I’d give this group a level 2, as it wasn’t really clear and I believe it should have been a bit longer, to show more of there filming technics.

IMPROVMENTS OF POOR EXAMPLE

• Use a tripod when needed

• Make sure the setting has enough light

• Make facial expressions clearer

• Use a wider range of shots

• Pay attention to editing

• Make each shot continuous so it has a flow
