GENERAL COMMENTS
InstructorHi Fiona.
Thank you f or the submission of your portf olioand congratulations on completing EDU40001.
I have detailed my f eedback below.
Part A:
You developed a good learning outcome/goaland provided a nice link to the EYLF thatsupported this goal. Well done :)
You provided some good key concepts relatingto the activity.
While you provided some good examples ofactivit ies - these were really an overview of someof the types of activit ies you could do - ratherthan an outline of a specif ic activity that youwould implement, which is what I was af ter.
Your rationale was well written and demonstratedyour strong understanding and knowledge of thecontent area. Your provided justif ication f or yourteaching strategies and resources withassistance f rom literature. Again this was verywell done.
Part B:
Early Childhood Lesson Plan.Good rationale. While there is some good inf ormation in yourbackground knowledge, you need to extend onthis to include knowledge regarding thedevelopmental background knowledge of thebabies in your care. What can they already do?Good understanding of the teacher f ocusdemonstrated in this plan. Well done. :)I agree that it can be hard not to overthink thisactivity. Try and ensure that all of the inf antsneeds are met bef ore the activity begins. Arethey f ed, nappy clean, are they well rested? When evaluating, also consider the inclusion ofself ref lection as this is very important. The EYLFhas some great inf ormation regarding ref lectivepractice which is an important part ofprogramming in early childhood.
Primary Lesson Plan.Good links to ACARA.Your rationale was very science based and thereneeded to be more of a cross over between whyyou had implemented this physical experience. In the background knowledge you mentioned thatthe students had participated in yoga - whatskills did they learn?Good list of learning resources.Good explanation in regards to the stages of theactivity.Evaluation did not relate to the actual lessonplan of the assessment - try and bring this backto what you would do in this instance. Whatquestions would you ref lect on? What would besome of the questions you would ask yourselfas the educator?
Well done on your assessment Fiona. I reallyenjoyed reading about your ideas.I wish you all the best f or your f uture studies.
