The Art & Craft of ForecastingA Residential Course with Sue Tompkinsat Abbey House, Glastonbury Monday 22 to Friday 26 April 2013

This new course with Sue Tompkins focuses on learning and mastering various predictive tools. Sue will also consider some philosophical implications of forecasting: Is prediction possible and in what circumstances? Do individuals have free will and, if so, to what extent? Is there such a thing as luck?

The emphasis throughout will be on selecting the most appropriate predictive tools for the job, developing confidence in articulating these tools, and then having fun seeing forecasting come alive via case studies. Students will explore all the major techniques from directions, progressions and transits, to lunations, planetary returns and some lesser-known techniques. The group will have lots of practice interpreting many examples and will be taught to synthesize techniques to create a holistic approach to forecasting. This course is suitable for those new to forecasting and those seeking practical revision of various methods.The course runs from 5pm Monday to after breakfast on Friday.
