We know that feeling of wishing you could take back whatever it is that caused pain. If only we could make it right again. We know those feelings of disappointment, betrayal, or abandonment. We know the brunt of heartache, sadness, and frustration. We all know that feeling. How great is it, then, to also hear that a moment of weakness doesn’t define the relationship? How liberating is it to know that the mistake of the child doesn’t negate the love of the parent? In this situation, Jesus shares an intimate moment with Peter. Sharing a meal, Jesus reminds Peter that his identity isn’t found in his shortcomings. His life won’t be remembered by a momentary weakness. He won’t be defined by denial and abandonment. Instead, Jesus reminds Peter he still has an important role to play. He will be a leader within the work of God’s Kingdom. Over and over, Jesus asked Peter, “Do you love me?” This process was designed by Jesus to remind Peter that repentance and devotion matter more than his flaws. Jesus is restoring and redeeming Peter, reminding him that he belongs to something more, something bigger, and that his life is now defined by resurrection. And Jesus does the same for us. Again and again, Jesus will ask us the same question. “Do you love me?” He does this to remind us, just as he did with Peter, we aren’t defined by our flaws, weakness, shortcomings, doubt, fear, betrayal, or hopelessness. We belong to something. We belong to someone. Jesus is reminding us that resurrection has and continues to take place. We are redeemed and reaffirmed that faith, love, hope, and trust are the defining attributes of our lives. We share in Peter’s experience because we are people of resurrection. Jesus looks through our mistakes to ask us again, “Do you love me?” We reply, over and over, “Yes, Lord, you know that we do!” He will tell us again, “Feed my sheep.” The joy of Easter resides in people of resurrection, those who play a part in God’s continuing, developing kingdom. Every day is another chance, another opportunity, one where Jesus will ask us, “Do you love me?” If we respond with that resounding “YES!,” then we already know our instructions. “Feed my sheep.” May you believe in the resurrection. May you believe it has power in your life. May you believe that God looks beyond weakness to provide strength. May you believe the Savior lives. May you believe that you are people of the resurrection. May you always feed his sheep. — Trent Sessoms Volume 16, Issue 4

changes in the schedule should continue to be handled by the lead coordinator.

apple to the Giving Tree so that Edith may know what is needed for that week. If you plan on SHOPPING, please drop off your weekly donations in front of the Backpack Buddies office located on the bottom floor downstairs in the Sanctuary building across from the Fellowship Hall

We are providing meals for 25 children at Knightdale Elementary every weekend. We need your help to fill those bags each week. A grocery list can be found in the vestibule of the Sanctuary. Please remember no glass. The Giving Tree is another way you can help, and the tree is located in the back hallway of the Sanctuary. Here is how it works … 1) Take a dollar amount that you are comfortable in contributing weekly OR that you can contribute that week ONLY. 2) Either shop for the items on the back of the apple, or add that dollar amount to your weekly tithe with a note in the memo section that allocates the amount for Backpack Buddies. 3) If you can contribute weekly, just keep the apple as a reminder for your shopping trips or for your additional monetary donation. If this is a ONE time donation, please return the

Backpack Buddies

(kitchen side, in the back hallway of the Sanctuary) in a box labeled Backpack Buddies, or on the floor at the bottom of the stairwell next to the Conference Room in the Education building. It’s as EASY as 1...2...3. Thank you again for supporting this ministry.

Mission News

TeamKBC Off to a Racing Start

TeamKBC is now officially out there in cyberspace and off to a racing start!

According to World Vision, we ranked 69th out of more than 1,400 teams worldwide in early registrations for the May 4th Global Walk for Water. We have one more month to reach out to our friends and neighbors

and ask for their help as we take God’s love to a thirsty world.

To sign up as a walker, or to donate to the team, you can start at our church website—

www.knightdalebaptist.com. There, click on News, then Global 6K for Water.

Or you can go directly to the TeamKBC page by typing https://www.teamworldvision.org/team/11154 into

your web browser.

Once at the TeamKBC page, you can click either the “Join Us”

button or the “Support” button. Both work essentially the same. You fill in your name, email address, street address and other

information. Walkers also will be asked for their tee-shirt size

since every walker will be mailed a shirt. Then pay your registra-

tion fee or make your donation by credit card to a secure site.

They accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express.

We are working to set up on-line registration at church on Sun-

day mornings so you can get direct help in registering.

Because this is a global effort, World Vision uses the internet and

credit cards so it can deal in dollars, euros, rupees and rials. The best way to use checks might be to contribute directly to someone

to help pay their registration fee.

This 6K walk on May 4th will help thousands of children around

the world. It is a way for us to take God’s love from this spot in Knightdale, North Carolina, to the whole

world. And it is a way for us to fulfill the Bible’s command to help those who are thirsty.

But it is more than that! It is also a way for us to reach out in our own community and ask them to help

with a worthy cause. It gives us the chance to serve Judea right here at home while also helping the world

at large.

We have cards available in the vestibule that you can pass along to friends and family. And posters are available for businesses that would be willing to display them. See Dennis Patterson to get posters for your

workplace or for places in Knightdale where you do business.

In just a few days, we will join thousands of people around the world in an effort to bring clean water to

those who desperately need it, many of them children. We pray you will join us!

Blood Drive

Mark your Calendar - Our Spring Blood Drive will be

Sunday, April 14th, from 12:30 - 5:00 pm.

You may schedule your appointment by visiting www.redcrossblood.org - use sponsor code “Knightdale Baptist,” and then follow the on screen directions, or you

may come by the church office to sign up. There will be a sign-up sheet on the door soon.
