The Asian continent: Part 2

Southeast Asiais very unique inmany ways. I am fascinated by their cultures, people, the land, etc. This includesthe very well-known places of Vietnam and the Philippines, and also Indonesia,

Thailand, ambodia, !aos, "alaysia, and #urma. The lar$est amount of immi$rantsin the %.&. from &outheast 'sia in our area of ()V'*+*"aryland, are Vietnamese,and ilipino. I went to school with quite a number of ilipino-'merican kids in

&prin$eld, V'. &ome were biracial, with a ilipino mother and white-'merican

father. There were also some Vietnamese kids as well. Vietnam is especially well-

known because of the Vietnam ar, http/**en.wikipedia.or$*wiki*Vietnam0ar, inwhich many 'mericans went and fou$ht.

I have worked with many ilipinos at almart, especially at the #urke almart

where I work. ' few, such as (estor and 1acquel have become my friends. I canusually reco$nie &outheast 'sian people when I see them. I can instantly

reco$nie Vietnamese and ilipinos, when I hear them speak in 3n$lish or in theirown lan$ua$es. ilipino culture, is very very unique, a mi4ture of &panish and&outheast 'sian cultures.
