Higher EducationWhen I graduate from high school, I plan

on going to Stanford University, located in Stanford, California. Stanford’s website is http://www.stanford.edu/. There are many prerequisites needed to be admitted into Stanford. I have included charts and graphs to represent these averages, which can be found on a following slide. The tuition per quarter is$13,350. The tuition costs $53,400 per year. The meal plan I have chosen includes 14 meals per week plus 420 Meal Plan Dollars and it costs $5,279 per year. The total cost for the meal plan at the end of my bachelors degree will be $21,116 total for all for years. Higher Education – Medical SchoolWhen I graduate from Stanford, and receive my

bachelors degree, I plan on going to medical school at John Hopkins Medical School, which is located in Baltimore, Maryland. The yearly tuition at John Hopkins Medical School is $42,600. For four years tuition it will cost $170,400. The room and board per year is $8,152. For all four years of college the cost of housing is $32,608. One of the meal plans offered includes anytime meals, 100 meal bucks, and 2 guest passes per semester, costing $5,554 a year, a total of $22,216 for the four total years. Requirements for AdmissionJohn Hopkins Medical School

There is several requirements for admission at John Hopkins Medical school, they include having previously successfully completing one year of calculus or statistics, successfully completing general chemistry, general chemistry laboratory exercises, organic chemistry, organic chemistry laboratory exercises, college biology, and college biology laboratory exercises, general college physics, general college physics laboratory exercises. You must also have a minimum 24 semester hours of humanities(English, history, foreign languages, etc.), social sciences(sociology, economics, political science, etc.), and behavioral science. Also required for admission is passing the MCAT exam (Medical College Admissions Test). A letter of recommendation from your previous college’s premedical committee or officially designated premedical advisor, or two letters of recommendation from science professors at the college who have taught the applicant, and one recommendation letter from a non-science professor at the college who has also previously taught the applicant, is required as well. Career & Income I am going to be a plastic surgeon. Plastic

surgeons are doctors who perform surgical operations on their patients, usually for cosmetic reasons. There are many different types of operations that they can perform, liposuction, breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, and a tummy tuck. Plastic surgeons usually work in hospitals or a private practice. They spend their time either in the operating room performing surgeries, or making rounds to check on their patients who are currently in recovery. (bls.gov)

The average salary for a surgeon, working in a hospital, before taxes, is $131,980, working in a private practice the average salary, before taxes, is $210,020. I would work in a private practice, because it gives you a more personal setting for your patients and their families. To be a surgeon you need a bachelor’s degree, you need to go to medical school, and you must complete a surgical residency. My net pay is $117,462.73. My monthly pay is $9,788.56.

Housing I found a beautiful house in Seattle,

Washington. The listing price is $499,950. The address of the home is 8700 12th NW, Seattle, WA 98117. It has three bedrooms, 2 and a half bathrooms, and is 1,899 square feet. It also has an attached one car garage, and two floors. It was built in 2011. (remax.com)

Additional ExpensesThere are many additional expenses in life, four of them and

there costs are listed below.Cell Phone BillIn these times, everyone has a cell phone, but the costs can

be expensive. I have chosen a plan with Sprint and it includes unlimited minutes, text messaging, and data, for one phone. It costs $99.99 per month. (sprint.com)

Cable ServiceCable service is also an additional expense, that can be

costly. My cable service provider is DIRECTV. The plan I have chosen includes local channels, HD Access, TiVo, and channels including MTV, TBS, Lifetime, CNN, and many others. It does not include internet service. It costs $61.99 for the first 5 months, and $106.99 for the next 19 months. (DIRECTV.COM)

Additional ExpensesGasIf I work at Northwest Hospital in Seattle, the drive from

my house to work will be 3.17 miles. Since my car has 15mpg, I can travel to work approximately 5 times on one gallon of gas. If I work a six day work week, it will cost around 3.09 per week for gas to drive to work. It will cost $12.36 per month in gas to drive to work.

Auto InsuranceMy auto insurance will cover comprehensive, collision,

rental car reimbursement, loan/lease payoff, bodily injury & property liability, underinsured motorist bodily injury, and personal injury protection. The cost of the insurance is $119.36 every two months.

Final Calculation

My final calculation for an entire month, which includes car payment, mortgage payment, groceries, cell phone, cable, auto insurances, and gas is $5538.10.
