Demanding regular pension at par with retired defence forces, the association also demanded revision of pension and said that it should be systematically revised. They warned them legal action if they did not mend their ways. Others present in the press conference included Kamal Choudhary, S K Sharma, Katoch, S Dalip Singh, S Dogra, S Mohinder Singh, Janak Raj etc. Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, June 28: Succulent Kebabs and aromatic Biryanis await foodies at Hotel K C Residency as they today kick start- ed a 12-day feast “The Great Kebab & Biryani Festival” at ‘The Terrace Sky’ lounge. Indeed, the customer will be spoilt for choice by the mind-bog- gling, exhaustive spread. With over 12 varieties of kebabs, both vege- tarian and non vegetarian, not to include the main course dishes equally perplexing in number, the culinary experts of KC Residency have indeed pulled out all stops to bring back the old world charm of heritage food. The spread which is a melange of colours, consists of exclusive flavors and textures. Also on platter are Jaffrani Kalmi Tikka, which redefines extravagance in its preparation of a saffron based chicken drumstick cooked with strands of saffron and generously prepared in ghee and the Gosht Adna Kebab, a sheek kebab of the softest texture, a riot of colours in itself, with beautiful, fresh multi coloured bell peppers. Non vegetarian and vegetarian options include Gosht Pasanda, Murgh Begum Bahar, Hyderabadi Murgh, Machli Hariyali Masala, Paneer Pudina Masala and Subz Kohlapuri. The main dishes, designed to complement the kebabs, are no exquisite, with Lasooni Pudina Paneer, a rich, creamy white preparation, enough to satisfy even the harshest of crit- ics and do more. Other names include Bharwan Simla Mirch, Luckhnawi Sabzi, etc all of which deserve special mention. In other words, this festival is no less than a “period drama, larg- er than life”, and flamboyant to the core. Living up to the name, the festival celebrates Indian culture and heritage, by recreating the magic of the food which was famous back in the times” said Rahul Jandial, General Manager of the hotel. “In a world where something new has to be constantly dished out to the customers and inventions are the coolest catchphrase, and flash is given more weightage than sub- stance, there will always be a loyal section of people who crave for something classic, some dish or food that they can identify with in terms of taste and flavour, bringing back happy memories," he added. Excelsior Correspondent SRINAGAR, June 28: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today asked oil compa- nies to expedite work on establish- ing oil depots and bottling plants in various districts of State. Chairing a review meeting, the Minister asked the representatives of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) who attended the meeting through video conferenc- ing, to expedite the land identifica- tion work for the establishing oil depots and bottling plant in the dis- tricts of Anantnag, Kargil, Rajouri, and Leh. Stressing on need for bringing in more urgency in the work, the Minister said that establishing the oil depots and bottling plants in the districts is must as it will help to avoid fuel shortage in the region. The Minister said availability of essential supplies, including oil and gas are must for people living across the State. He said keeping inclusive development of every region in mind, it is imperative that irrespective of geographical loca- tion, every area in the State should receive a fair share of its infrastruc- tural development and get benefits at par with any other place. During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Syed Abid informed the meeting that the district administration has already identified 70 kanals of land at six different places for the construction purpose, adding four locations out of these places are close to railway lines and national highway as was requested by oil companies earlier. Similarly, Deputy Commiss- ioner, Rajouri Shahid Iqbal Choudhary informed the meeting that 165 kanals of land have been identified for construction of oil depot and bottling plant in the dis- trict. Meanwhile, Deputy Commiss- ioner Kargil apprised the Minister that 71 kanals of land have been identified and the district adminis- tration is in process of completing other formalities to hand over the land to the oil companies. During the meeting, the Minister instructed the oil compa- nies to ensure that they will send their technical expert team to all the districts to check if the identi- fied land is feasible for the required constructions. During the meeting, the Minister also sought update of shifting of oil depot situated near Railway Head in Jammu with Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Rajeev Ranjan. Expressing his concern over the issue, the Minister said that shifting of oil depot from its pres- ent location is a must as it is a seri- ous "security hazard." Reiterating his concern for expediting the process of shifting work of the oil depot to the new identified place, the Minister directed if the step is not taken soon the Government may be forced to close down the oil depot in Jammu for the security of people. Secretary FCS&CA Shafiq Raina, Controller, Legal Metrology Department (LMD) Vipra Bhal, Director FCS&CA Kashmir Nissar Ahmad Wani, State Level Coordinator, IOCL Hari Anupam, Senior Regional Manager HPCL Ajaz Kachroo, Senior Territory Manager BPCL, Rajesh Sharma and other con- cerned attended the meeting. Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, June 28: Blaming the PDP-BJP coalition of deliber- ate confusion over the GST in the State, PCC has accused the two coalition partners of playing a fixed match over the issue, just to put blame on the opposition. A meeting of the PCC execu- tive was held here today under the chairmanship of PCC chief GA Mir which was attended by all senior functionaries and leaders of the party. The meeting deliberated upon the current State of affairs in the State especially the deteriorat- ed security scenario in the Valley and expressed grave concern over the overall situation. The series of attack on the force and gruesome incidents of targeting of local police officials and security forces reflect the utter failure of the State and Centre Government to handle the situa- tion which is worsening day by day and taking new dimensions of great security concern in the wake of Amarnathji Yatra, which took off today. The party asked the Centre and State Govt to ensure fool proof security for smooth and peaceful conduct of the Yatra. The meeting also lambasted the State Govt for the deliberate confusion over the issue of GST as part of their match fixing exercise. The PDP and BJP are in a coalition for the sake of sharing power in the State, as such the exchange of letters or hollow statements are mere eye wash to hoodwink the people. The responsibility lies on the Coalition Govt to implement the GST as per the modes provid- ed in the constitution in tune with Article 370, for which the State Govt is fully qualified and had ample powers but it wanted to run with the hare and hunt with the hound, to unnecessarily blame the opposition, for the delay and uncertainty, for which coalition is to be squarely responsible. It said the coalition partners are committed to safeguard the special status as per their own agenda of alliance and it was the duty of the Govt to take steps to ensure the timely implementation of GST, if they were sincere. The Government itself aborted the spe- cial session and converted it into obituary session only, even after commenting to provide draft pro- posal of the Government on June 13 all party meet, while it circu- lated false propaganda in the media against opposition. As for as Congress is con- cerned it has never been against the GST which is its brain child but it is the Government which had to adopt the proper mode and manner of implementation of the same. It is the Govt which is to be blamed for the current chaos, con- fusion and uncertainty over the issue as it failed to take timely steps in the direction of evolving consensus to get it through in the special session convened for the purpose, the PCC leaders said.
