Dear Sirs,I am pleased to report that the AECMA General Assembly has approved all of the resolutions to enable the transformation of AECMA into a new association combining EDIG, EUROSPACE and AECMA.The Statutes have now been submitted to the Ministry of Justice for approval. As a consequence of this and the fact that the EDIG and EUROSPACE General Assemblies have also approved the necessary resolutions, as agreed, we will now operate as if the ASD – AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - were formally in place.Sincerely yours,

Leaders,This is a heads up. Please read the note below. It signals that our future data specs will be performed in a collaboration with ATA and ASD (military and commercial). This will also assist us in moving forward more quickly in support of our customers needs. I'm excited to see that our work in this area is moving forward.
We'll be engaging the ATA community in the transition as it is defined. Thanks for the support in making this happen.

ATA iSpec 2200 to go S1000DGentlemen,
I am very pleased to report that the ATA e-Business Advisory Committee has recommended to ATA senior management that we pursue Option 2 -Collaboration with ASD/AIA S1000D for next generation technical data standards. The recommendation is being reviewed by our Senior Advisory Committee this afternoon and we expect to have authorization to proceed from ATA senior management by end of week. Assuming all goes well, we will send a draft MoU to ASD very soon. The MoU will establish a joint technical team that can begin collaborative work immediately while we draft a more detailed agreement between ATA and ASD. The success of our ultimate agreement will be driven by some key issues that we discussed with S1000D's leadership:
- Adequate commercial representation - Flexibility in how the new Civil Air Working Group will be organized/operated - Close working relationship and coordination between ATA and S1000D - Contingency plan/exit strategy in the unfortunate event that commercial and military standards must diverge.
We will send out an announcement to all TICC participants when we have authorization to proceed. Please let me know if you have any questions. I welcome your thoughts.
Regards, Brad BallanceSenior Managing Director, e-Business Air Transport Association, Inc.
