ASB-150 Series 1-Step Injection Stretch Blow Molding Machines
High Output Container Molding
The ASB-150 Series models are large sized, four-station, one-step injection stretch-blow molding machines offering high outputs
of a range of containers from very large to very small through three variants, the “DP”, “DPW” and “DPX” models.
All versions utilize ASB’s unique four station molding process of; 1) preform injection molding, 2) preform conditioning, 3) stretch
blow molding, 4) product eject. Special advantage is gained from the inclusion of the second station for preform conditioning
that vastly expands the possibilities of container design, material optimization and long-term stability of molding under
real-world conditions.
The robust engineering design with minimized moving mass and precision-made molds ensures repeatable, easy start-up with
minimum adjustment, thereby maximizing your productivity and profitability.
The three models share a common structure and operation, that contributes to simplified factory layout, faster operator training
and reduced operating and maintenance costs.
The “DP” model provides extremely wide versatility for
very large jars and bottles for family packs and catering
applications while the “DPW” is ideally suited to the small
to medium sized bottle and jar market.
With its triple row molding layout, the ASB-150DPX molds
with 24, 36 or 48 cavities giving maximum production rates
in excess of 20,000bph for small containers.
Three models to suit every molding application
◆ ASB-150DP Series ExplainedASB Nissei ASB’s original concept series, models
bearing this prefix are all 4-station, one-step injection stretch blow molding machines incorporating our advanced preform conditioning system in the second station.
150 150 tons (1,472kN) clamping force in the injection station provides stable molding for large necked containers or high cavity numbers. All “DP” models feature a segmented rotary table so that the mass of movable parts is minimized, reducing energy consumption and decreasing dry cycle time.
DP The original DP model uses single row molding offering a huge space for very large bottles and jars up to 15 liters.
DPW Double row molding in the same space offers double the number of cavities for bottles and jars up to 1.5 liter.
DPX Increasing the molding to three rows enables very high output of small containers up to 300ml capacity.

◆ Tie-bar-less Blow Mold StructureAll models utilize a tie-bar-less blow mold clamping system that significantly reduced mold changeover times. Blow cavities are removed and refitted as one complete set so multi-cavity molds take no longer to exchange than simple molds.
◆ Energy Saving Servo Hydraulic Pumps*By varying the rotation speed of the motor, a servo driven pump can be controlled to give precisely the correct amount of oil required at any point in the machine cycle. With this feature installed, each of the three major functions of the machine; plasticizing, injection molding and blow molding has its own independent hydraulic circuit and servo motor meaning that each pump is optimized so that energy savings can be maximized.
◆ Blow Air Recovery SystemAfter bottles are blown, instead of exhausting the used air to atmosphere, this option can re-direct it into the machine’s operating air system.Depending on the container specification, anywhere from 15% to approximately 70% of operation air requirements can be recovered from the blow air system, reducing the energy costs of the operation air compressor.
◆ Semi-Auto/Full-Auto Lubrication SystemAs a major aid to reduced downtime and increased productivity, all models can be fitted with various options of semi-automatic or fully automatic lubrication systems that allow essential maintenance to be conducted without stopping production.Multiple circuits enable the use of optimized oils or greases depending on the mechanism to be lubricated. In the case of the automated type, a warning will be displayed on the operator panel if oil & grease levels are becoming low.
◆ Holding Pressure CylinderThe standard in-line injection units can handle almost any molding condition but where high shot sizes combine with a thin, fast cooling preform, the recovery of the screw for the next cycle could be a limiting factor. As a countermeasure, an optional holding pressure cylinder mounted on the front of the injection barrel maintains pressure within the cavity, allowing screw recovery to start earlier thus ensuring the shortest possible cycle time is achieved.
◆ Customize to Your NeedsAs with all our ASB Series models, the ASB-150 Series has a long list of additional options to suit virtually any production scenario. Consult with our sales team to find the best package for your needs, and if it doesn’t already exist – we are always ready to continually develop our products to satisfy your specific application.
◆ Custom Take-Out SystemWith the addition of one of our custom designed take-out units, molded containers can be set onto a conveyor ready for automatic inspection, packing or filling.Take-out heads are customized for each container design to ensure accurate handling of the container.
