The Department of Education (DepEd) through the Health and NutritionCenter (HNC) launched the Breakfast Feeding Program in S !"#"$## toaddress the pro%lem of under nutrition and short$term hunger among pu%licschool children& Pilot implementation 'as conducted in S !"##$#! and!"#!$#& esults indicated that *+ of the %ene,ciaries con-erted to NormalNutritional Status at the end of #!" feeding da.s& School attendance 'asalso noted at /0+& Furthermore1 the children 'ere o%ser-ed to ha-e %etterclass participation and de-eloped good health ha%its such as 'ashing of hands and good grooming&

For S !"#2 3 !"#41 the program incorporated partnership initiati-es for%etter co-erage and o5ciall. renamed the program as the Sc)oo-Ba"edFeedin!
