AS Media StudiesEvaluation AnalysisJess Richards#1 In What ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? For this question, I understand that it is asking me to explain how my own media product reflects or differs real opening sequences. I have decided to use a power point presentation to answer this question as I can compare other sequences with my opening sequence. I will be comparing mine to the horror films I have already looked at and some others that I have not used before.#2 How does your media product represent particular social groups? For this question, I understand that it is asking me how my product may relate to, or possibly contradict social groups in society. These social groups could be gender, age, class or regional groups. For this I will be using a vlog style video to answer this question. #3 What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?For this question, it is asking me who would sell on my media product. These institutions could be big film producers, such as Universal Pictures, Warner Brothers or Pixar. It could also be online distributers such as Netflix and BlinkBox. For this, I will be using an interview style video to answer.#4 Who would be the audience for your media product? For this question, it is asking me who will watch my media product. This could be a certain age group, or gender, or other types of social groups. For this question, I will be creating a small sample questionnaire and then analysing my finding. I will also be using existing poll answers and statistics from real media products of our genre to help create a picture. #5 How did you attract/address your audience? For this question, it is asking me how my media product appealed to the target audience. It is telling me to explain, with use of evidence how my target audience has been drawn into the piece. For this question, I will be answering it in a film review style answer.#6 What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? This question is asking me how my media knowledge and usage has developed in the process of making my film piece. This includes my wider knowledge of the editing software, the actual production process and analysis of existing products. For this, I will be using an interview style answer, with a friend asking me the questions. #7 Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product? This question is pretty much asking me how my learning and understanding of media studies has developed and improved since my preliminary task at the start of the course. For this answer I will be using a directors commentary to answer this question, as I can compare and contrast both tasks.
