Aruna's Accident,29th May 2009 – where was God ?

The Impact

The accident happened at a Highway Intersection.

Note the shape of the white Ford Fiesta ( the bandit ) imprinted on the side of our car --- gives you an idea of the impact !

The Damage

Aruna suffered multiple fractures – of her Pelvic bone, ribs and shoulder blade, requiring an External fixator on her abdomen, with pins going into her body to immobilize the Pelvic bone and to bring it into alignment

Her lungs and liver were badly bruised

Whether just out of ICU, or after removal of her fixture, Aruna was continually brave, cheerful and smiling – exhibiting Faith in Action !

The Big Questions

Where is God when such things happen ?

How could a loving God allow such a thing to happen to her, when she was out on a mission to rescue a small girl, who is likely to end up in the flesh trade ?

The Evidence that points to an answer ---

God was there, making sure the car did not burst into flames....

The Evidence continued ....

A Police highway patrol passing by saw the accident and was on the spot and came to help immediately.

The police was able to get an ambulance within a few minutes and get Aruna, her friend and the driver to the hospital within half an hour

God was at the accident site, ensuring that Aruna got immediate aid...

More evidence..... Aruna suffered broken shoulder blade, broken ribs, apart from her Pelvic bone

being fractured in 4 places and suffering 'gross displacement. However, all the doctors who saw her were surprised and relieved that there was no damage to the urinary tract. They also said that in such fractures, there is normally a tremendous amount of bleeding – 15 units or more.

Although, Aruna had internal bleeding and Blood Pressure dropped to 60/40 within a few minutes of her reaching the hospital,no major blood vessel was damaged. Also, the hospital had sufficient Blood of her type available to give her.

• God who fashioned her every cell mitigated the effect of the impact ...

• God was at the Hospital, in advance, ensuring that everything needed for her treatment was in place....

Suresh could drop everything in the business to take care of Aruna at the hospital for over 10 days

During the time that Aruna and Suresh were away from the business, our people, our customers and our suppliers ensured that it was a record month in terms of orders, sales and collection.

We had sufficient funds available for treatment and every expense, although we were not covered under insurance.

God was at our business, taking care of everything, He was taking care of our every financial need, in business and for medical expenses ......

Some answers ...

We know that although what happened was not necessarily in God's will, He was very much with us through the experience.

In all this,we felt, saw, and fully experienced the abundant grace of our Lord Jesus. We have seen his presence and experienced his care and love in abundant measure.

Next steps 29th July 09....

As Aruna, treads the path of recovery, we approach life with renewed confidence that our Lord loves us, and is with us every step of the way ( unless we wilfully pull away !)

We are also thankful to our Lord for the care and concern of our family and friends, and for their continuing prayers for the speedy and complete recovery of Aruna. We are indeed privileged to have your support !

We are also confident in the hope that our Lord God will use this experience and this period for His glory, because we love Him.

p.s. We may, at long last, be changing our old faithful Fiat for a new car – another diesel Fiat !
