WHAT IS ARTS AND COMMUNICATION?
• Arts and Communication has programs of study related to humanities, visual arts, performing arts, media arts, technical arts, and literary arts.
ART THERAPIST
Responsibilities: • Encourage their clients to express themselves through the use of a
variety of artistic materials, such as paints, pastels, pencil crayons, markers, and clay.
• Explore clients’ emotions in non-threatening ways
Education Needed:
• Bachelor’s degree with a concentration on psychology and fine arts
• Master’s degree in art therapy or a related field with an emphasis on art therapy
• Art therapy internship and supervised clinical experience after graduation

• Become a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) through the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB)
• Registered therapists can take a written exam to earn board certification to gain the title ATR-BC

Responsibilities:
• Must work on contract for TV and film production companies
• Stunt work is dangerous; performers risk broken bones, burns, and other severe injuries
