The Constitution gives executive powers-to carry out laws-to a President.
His assistant is the Vice President.Also assistance comes from his Cabinet

The Electoral College: voters cast their ballots for electors- each state is granted as many electors as it has Congress people(Senators + Representatives = Electoral Votes)- 12th Amendment: separate ballots for VP and Pres- 20th Amendment: inauguration day is Jan 20th
