What is an art collective? Group of artists working together

towards shared aims. Groups can be in a variety of sizes.

Small groups can be 2-10 people, while global groups can include thousands.

Benefits include: shared intelligence, creative energy and social interaction

Fluxus Their name is taken from a Latin word

meaning "to flow”. It is an international network of artists,

composers and designers noted for blending different artistic media and disciplines in the 1960s.

They have been active in Neo-Dada noise music and visual art as well as literature, urban planning, architecture, and design.

George Muciunas is largely recognized as the leader of the movement.

Erase, scrape or wash away as well as possible the previously drawnline or lines of La Monte Young or any other lines encountered, likestreet dividing lines, rulled paper or score lines, lines on sports fields,lines on gaming tables, lines drawn by children on sidewalks etc.

established in New York City in 1985. Known for their posters, books, billboards,

appearances and other creative forms of cultural/public art, the group aims to expose discrimination and corruption.

Present feminist viewpoints in a humorous manner.

They are famous for wearing gorilla masks in public and taking the names of deceased female artists as pseudonyms.

Space 1026 A gallery and art collective located in

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The space serves as a gallery, venue, printing studio and art space shared by individuals, small businesses and non-profit organizations.

30 plus artists in the collective, with a wide range of talents and backgrounds.

Started for economic reasons, and to provide a meeting space for artists.

Royal Art Lodge The Royal Art Lodge was a Canadian art

collective from 1996-2008.  The Royal Art Lodge was founded in 1996 by

Michael Dumontier, Marcel Dzama, Neil Farber, Drue Langlois, Jonathan Pylypchuk, and Adrian Williams in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. 

Each member created a variety of pieces on a certain theme, before all of the group members chose which to include in the final piece.
