The event originated from propitiatory ceremonies is linked to the arrival of the so-called “magnin”, who tinned pots, and to Marquis Del Carretto’s generosity, who gave polenta, onion omelette and sausage to a group of starving tinkers; they thanked the village by giving an enormous copper pot as a present. This pot is used today for cooking the polenta, which is served to the public after the historical parade.
