We had four choices of art activities.

There were coloured strips, glue, crayons and pencils to make a structure.After the creation of the structure students talked about their structure. I asked students if the structure was an abstract, or whether they thought about something real when they made their structures. Most SK students helped me spell the descriptive words. We discussed that abstract art was a form, something pretty, but not something real. This is a difficult concept for kindergarten students. One student chose to identify his structure as abstract.

Students could draw a fall leaf using pastels.

Students were given a sheet with four small designs. The instructions read: can you make a picture starting with these “designs”?

The final station had play dough and samples of letters. Students were asked to make play dough snakes and write three letters of their choice with the “snakes”. Four students chose this activity, but I do not have pictures of this activity.
