Arroyo Consulting dynamic website storyboard Arroyo Consultings’ goal with a dynamic website is to provide our clients with a TOOL to administer the dynamic content of their website with easy to use and understand interfaces and steps. Part of the analysis and design phase is to identify the sections of the website that are candidates for dynamic user administered content, the reality is that administered content can take 2-10 times as long to code as static content depending on the complexity of the content, however, fresh content is what keeps a web site alive and usable to your clients. Most of our dynamic websites are built using Macromedia ColdFusion MX, SQL Server 2000 and Macromedia Flash MX 2004 (where flash content is requested). We have a large library of core components that we can utilize and customize to fit your specific dynamic website needs. Administrative interfaces are built with familiar “like” tools such as Word, Excel, Windows File Upload routines. This is important in delivering an easy to use and understand dynamic website to our clients. The following will illustrate various dynamic areas of existing Arroyo Consulting sites along with the administrative interfaces used to generate the content. Home page “what’s new”

• This is the Home page as an end user sees it


• This is the Home Page after an admin logs in to the web site, notice the

additional buttons that appear on the web page


• This is the edit page allowing a user to define the what’s new content,

notice the admin definable fields like which division this appears in (this particular customer has 2 divisions that share the same web site base code), what “order” this item appears in, and what date the item drops off the site on. Also note the “word” like editor used to define the content, this allows admins to add color, tables, links, images, etc… to their content in a familiar interface.


Login required equipment list

• This particular customer required a “login” in order to see their equipment

list, this is the home page when a user is not logged on


• This is the home page when a user is logged on, user can edit profile

(base information, keep me informed flag, password, email on file, etc…). Admin’s can also define “featured items” which show up once a user is logged on.


• Once a user is logged on they can view the equipment list, this is the

equipment list in “non admin” mode, i.e. the user does not have any special privileges.

extra buttons used to administer items.

screen the end user sees when selecting detail button for the equipment list

screen the admin sees when selecting detail button for the equipment list, this is where the detail is created for the information an end user sees.


• Equipment detail screen with admin login – add document popup, this is

the popup the admin sees when adding documents (images, pdf, zip files associated to this piece of equipment). The admin can give the document a “name” and then “browse” for the appropriate file via a familiar explorer like interface.


Admin reports

• Some dynamic sites collect information that a client needs to report on, in

this example an online golf booking call center needs to be able to view records based on a variety of filters, as screen space is limited the “web view” typically contains only the most critical pieces of information, however, all our reports also have the option to “dump” all data into an excel spreadsheet. This is a sample of the “web view” of the report (tied to an admin login with access to the report of course).

“Traditional” and “Flash” Interfaces

• This particular client had a need to allow pdf literature to be gotten to

either via an html (traditional) interface or a Macromedia Flash interface. The admin is similar to those above (i.e. simple end user interface with upload of document), so all that is illustrated here is the end user interface. This is the “traditional” interface


• This is the same “electronic literature room“ with a flash interface. There is

no additional work involved in the admin of the content.
