XML and XP LED are LEDs which combine with lighting class performance and reliability. The foot print is much smaller than XR LED, especially XP LED. Both XML and XP are high efficient LED which deliver unprecedented levels of light output and efficacy for a single die LED which is a perfect fit on general illumination application.

Cree lighting class XP/MX series LED viewing angle is wide (115˚-120˚). For certain applications such as MR16 lamp replacement, this viewing angle needs to be focused into a narrower angle and narrow flux beam. However, for area lighting and outdoor lighting application, where wide viewing angle with perfect uniformity, then extended viewing angle optic solution is also required.

Boost Converters can be designed to drive more than one high power XPG/XTE/XBD LED in series, and multi-chip MCE LED with chip connected in series from battery pack. All the converters can provide a simpler and higher current output to drive high-power LEDs in voltage step-up application. Some controllers can access very low input voltage and oscillate at high frequency which reduce size of LED driver, those features are suitable for lighting application powered by limited size battery. Constant current driver features are recommended for maintaining constant lumen and color temp output throughout LED’s life.

This is specially designed for IRC-Anotherm heat sink. IRC-Anotherm is the best commercial material known to Arrow, to pass through heat from LED to ambient temperature. Since these heat sink are mostly customized, each request will be taken as a special handling deal. Its best thermal conductivity comes from the fact that LED (XRE thermal resistance, junction to solder point, typical 8 'C/W) sit on top of IRC Anotherm circuitry (K=27 w/m-'K) which passes the LED heat directly onto the Aluminum (K=201 w/m-'K) immediately below it. There is no need of any heat gel which K value is lower than the Anotherm, in between the MCPCB/Anotherm and the heat sink below (aluminium with fin).

In LED lighting design, thermal management becomes one of the most challenging areas. In order to extend LED life for maximizing the lighting fixture reliability. It is always necessary to estimate the LED chip junction temperature in design stage. In the following, the method of LED thermal management as well as junction temperature estimation will be introduced.
Application Example: Estimating junction temperature in XRE LEDCalculating the junction temperature from measuring the solder point temperature: Assuming an Xlamp LED driving at 350mA at 3.3V, the measured solder point temperature is 51.2°C, the junction temperature can be estimated as:

DescriptionThe LM3414 and LM3414HV are 1A 60W* common anode capable constant current buck LED drivers. They are exceptionally suitable to drive single string of 3W HBLED with up to 96% efficiency. They accept input voltages from 4.5VDC to 65VDC and deliver up to 1A average LED current with ±3% accuracy. The integrated low-side N-channel power MOSFET and current sensing element realize simple and low component count circuitry as no bootstrapping capacitor and external current sensing resistor are required. An external small signal resistor to ground provides very fine LED current adjustment, analog dimming as well as thermal fold-back functions. Constant switching frequency operation eases EMI. No external loop compensation network is needed. The proprietary Pulse-Level-Modulation (PLM) control method benefits in high conversion efficiency and true average LED current regulation. Fast response time realizes fine LED current pulse fulfilling the 240 Hz 256-step dimming resolution requirement for general lighting.

DescriptionThe LM3447 is a versatile power factor correction (PFC) controller designed to meet the performance requirements of a residential and commercial phase cut dimmer compatible LED lamp drivers. The device incorporates a phase decoder circuit and adjustable hold current circuit to provide smooth and flicker free dimming operation. Proprietary primary side control technique based on input voltage feed forward is used to regulate the input power drawn by the LED driver and to achieve line regulation over a wide range of input voltage. Valley switching operation is implemented to minimize switching loss and reduce EMI. The controller features an internal thermal foldback circuit designed to protect the LEDs based on the temperature sensed by a single external NTC resistor. Additional features include LED open circuit and short circuit protection, cycle-by-cycle FET overcurrent protection, burst mode fault operation using internal 812ms fault timer and internal thermal shutdown. The LM3447 is ideal for implementing dimmable, isolated single stage LED lamp drivers where simplicity, low component count and small solution size are of primary importance.

DescriptionThe LM3466 integrates a linear LED driver for lighting systems which consist of multiple LED strings powered by a constant current power supply. It equalizes the current provided by the supply in a pre-set ratio for each active LED string, where an active string is a fully turned on LED string, regardless of the number of strings connected to the supply or the forward voltage of each LED string. If any LED string opens during operation, the LM3466 automatically equalizes the supply current through all of the remaining active LED strings. As a result, the overall brightness of the lighting system is maintained even if some LED strings open during operation. The LM3466 lighting system is simple to design owing to a proprietary control scheme. To minimize the component count, the LM3466 integrates a 70V, 1.5A N-channel power MOSFET with a current limit of 2.06A. To add one more LED string to the system, only a single resistor, a capacitor, and a LM3466 are required. Other supervisory features of the LM3466 include under-voltage lock-out, fault reporting, thermal latch off, and thermal shutdown protection. The LM3466 consists of only linear circuitry so that the EMI of the application circuit is not deteriorated. The LM3466 lighting system is EMI friendly if the constant current power supply used is complied to EMI standards.

Power Factor Correction is inherent if the TPS92310 is operated in the constant on-time mode with an adaptive algorithm. The control algorithm of TPS92310 adjusts the on-time with reference to the primary side inductor peak current and secondary side inductor discharge time dynamically, the response time of which is set by an external capacitor. In addition, minimized EMI and switching loss is achieved with quasi-resonant switching. DescriptionMinimising the glare and optimising the efficiency of the LED luminaries at the same time is one of the barriers for LED lighting manufacturers. Ledlink recently launched a series of “hybrid optics”, which combines the secondary and the reflector in one part to maximise the output but minimise the glare, and moreover, it looked similar to the traditional halogen lamp.

About Ledlink Aluminum Reflector :Spinning and stamping are common processes to manufacture aluminum reflectors in the industry. In order to keep the consistency and increase the precision of the aluminum reflector, Ledlink chooses stamping process to produce reflectors. With stamping process, which can raise the part precision greatly, the tolerance can be controlled within +/- 0.03mm. Therefore, the reflectors can meet the optic performance as expected. Ledlink is continually pursuing high quality in our products; stamping process is one reliable technique for us to reach this goal.

DescriptionThe AC-rated RTP device is an effective solution for lighting dimmers that are embedded in the wall and have difficulty dissipating heat, which can result in a thermal event. Additionally, the MOSFETs used in lighting dimmer designs can fail in resistive mode, generating heat and resulting in a thermal runaway condition. DescriptionThe CoolSplice connectors are designed to connect a pair of discrete wires, or a twin cord cable in line to a pair of discrete wires or twin cord cables. The insulation displacement, free hanging connectors accepts 18 AWG stranded or solid wire in unsealed and sealed, color coded configurations. Factory or field terminations are completed with standard pliers.
