the National IPv6 Thailand Master Plan for 2014-2016 (3-year plan)
The National IPv6 Thailand Master Plan
The plan covers on 4 categories:
1. IPv6 Infrastructure 15
2. Human Development 7
3. Services and Supports 5
4. Public Awareness 4
3-year Action Plan (2014-2016)
IPv6 Monitoring
•Recently, Thailand has around 80 IPv6 prefixes allocated, however, around 1/3 are alive,
•We keep IPv6 measuring results from several monitoring sites, for example, Google, IPv6 Cisco Lab, APNIC, RIPE, IPv6-Test.
•We have our own IPv6 monitoring system.

We cannot manage what we cannot measure

• Daily Result
Colour Results : Red - No IPv6 addresses assignedYellow - IPv6 addresses are assigned but service may not work.

16
Trend of IPv6 in e-Gov
17
Some good progress…
•Good progress in Ministry of Finance, e.g.• The Revenue Department,• The Customs Department,• The Excise Department,• Export-Import Bank of Thailand.
•Ministry of ICT.
•Ministry of Science and Technology.
18
What is next?
•We are working for more IPv6 address blocks for the whole e-Gov,
•By early of 2016, we will launch a second plan for IPv6.
•Pushing DNSSEC.
19
IPv6 Test drivers/Events
•UniNet IPv6 Day, Dec 6, 2015•Will turn off IPv4 for half day
•UniNet IPv6 Day. June 6, 2016•Will turn off IPv6 for whole day
•We will propose a similar event to e-Govnetwork.
20
Seem to be (more) in stable operation
• Ping from US to some Thai Universities,
• It seems to be in stable condition.
21
IPv6 (good) experiences
• Some users experienced that IPv6 is faster than IPv4 (not all the time)

23
Conclusion• Restoring the Internet to “real end-to-end model” will allows more innovative at the edge,
• IPv6, our second generate Internet, is taking offto restore “real end-to-end” communications,
• Thailand commits to go on IPv6!
