Dr and Mrs McGuiness make life easier adding a luxury lift Dr and Mrs McGuiness have lived in their family home in Farnham, Surrey for 5 years. They decided to embark on a major renovation and extension of their home which would be split into two sections so that they could live adjacent to their daughter and her family. The stairs had begun to become a problem for them and they wanted to ensure they could stay in their home in complete comfort and independence over the years ahead. Dr and Mrs McGuiness felt that a home lift was the right solution and would help make life that little bit easier for them.

A Smart Solution with Style

After exploring the different types of home lifts available on the market, Dr and Mrs McGuiness decided that the Aritco HomeLift was the best option for them. It would be in keeping with the finish they had planned for their home. To help make up their mind, Terry Lifts arranged for them to visit an existing Aritco HomeLift customer. They also had the opportunity to see another brand of home lift which was manufactured in China, allowing them to compare the two lifts in the real home environment.

Dr and Mrs McGuiness particularly liked the Aritco HomeLift as it would add a nice element to their interior design. They were able to customise the lift which meant they could give it a unique and personal style. A factor that was very important to them. They too found the ‘Build your lift’ app really helpful and simple to use when deciding on the different design options. Their decision to install the lift was finally swayed due to the lifts superior quality and aesthetics.

Challenges

After Terry Lifts had carried out the initial survey it became apparent that there would be added challenges installing the structure of the lift. Terry Lifts’ engineers discovered that the support for the floor joists next to the shaft were insufficient and an additional lintel was required to provide the necessary structural support. Once this was done the engineers successfully completed the installation and handover of the lift.
