• For our 70th anniversary of our Northminster Church; thanking God for his steadfast grace and inspiration, leading us through all these years in ministry and mission. We give thanks for the fellowship of Christ in this church and the many who have sacrificed and served to bring us to this day. We rejoice in how our Lord will lead us in the years to come!

Sunday Student Groups, 9:45-10:45am, Youth Room 1. A weekly dive into the Bible with discussions of its relevance to our lives.

Youth Group meets every other Tuesday, 6-7:30pm in the Fellowship Hall (enter through double doors off Fort Lowell) Invite a friend and come for fun games, creative activities, and God’s word. The next meeting is on November 16.

Deacons Pantry – Our Deacons are collecting spaghetti to fill out weekly essential bags given through our food pantry on Tuesdays, 9-11am. Join in their efforts and help them reach this month’s goal of 300 1lb packages! Pasta may be dropped off at the Church Office.

Share any God glimpses you think you’ve had this last week?

OBSERVATION:

What are the ‘Messiah Events’ you notice before and after Luke 9:18-27? What insights are found from the surrounding context of this scene that seems to speak to you?

What is Jesus warning his friends about?

What is an observation and question you have from this intimate scene of Jesus with his disciples? INTERPRETATION:

How would you interpret and explain what it means to ‘take up your cross daily?

Did Peter fully understand his own answer at v20? How do you think he was able to answer Jesus?

What are the implications for disciples of Christ today as we listen to Jesus’ explanation of commitment and sacrifice?
