The end of our first fifty days of learning at

the end of Term One is celebrated with

our annual Easter Hat Parade on Friday

April 05th 2019 in the Assembly Area.

Specific information will soon be sent out by

Neighbourhood Teacher Teams regarding the

creation of hats.

The Easter Hat Parade commences at 2:00 p.m. and

concludes by 2:45 p.m. in time for our learners to

catch the Estate Buses. As in all past years, this is an

event for all learners and staff to participate in.

Parents, Carers and friends of the school are always

encouraged to attend this colourful and creative

parade of hats.

Last week, invitations were sent

home to all families to indicate

preferred days and times to

connect face to face with

Classroom Teachers in Weeks Nine and Ten to

discuss the progress and achievement of learners.

This year, as a school we are aiming for a

participation rate of 90% and higher. If you have not

yet received an invitation to meet with your

child/ren’s Class Teachers, please contact them or

the Office as soon as possible. By now, confirmation

slips regarding days and times should have been

received.

Every year, Parkhurst State School

has it’s annual Cross Country and

Fun Run during the last week of

Term One for all learners from Prep

to Year Six. This year, this popular

event will be held on Wednesday

April 03rd 2019, commencing at 9:00 a.m. All classes

will assemble with their teachers after classroom rolls

have been marked in the Assembly Area, before

parading to the Oval in the Sports Houses, led by the

Sports House Captains.

All learners are encouraged to wear their Sports

Shirts on the day. All parents and carers are

encouraged to attend and support their child/ren

and even take part if able and willing. As in previous

years, the course is marked through the school and

is completed as four events in Neighbourhoods.

All families would have received sponsorship

booklets, with some options for the collection of

money, including online. There are also some great

prizes on offer for fundraising milestones. All

Sponsorship Forms and money is due on Monday

April 01st 2019 to the Office, with a final collection

date of Thursday April 04th 2019. Last year, around

$6 000 was raised. A big thank you goes out to Mr

David Johnson who has coordinated this fundraiser,

with proceeds supporting the resourcing of the

school’s Physical Education Program.
