Donations received as of November 30, 2016

We would like to thank and recognize EveryONE who gave to the EveryONE Annual Campaign.

For four years now, our Temple Aliyah annual campaign has been incredibly successful in helping to fill the gap in our operations expenses—above what our membership dues provide for. This annual giving is critical to allowing us

to continue providing joy, meaning, support, inspiration, friendship and more to our members like we have for more than 50 years.

Now entering its fifth year, we hope the campaign will reach a new milestone. For 2016-2017, our campaign goal is to move from 62% participation to 100% participation—that means every member of our

synagogue giving something, no matter how large or small.

Every person, and every gift, has the power to make a difference in our community. Please

consider making a contribution.

Imagine the impact if we all gave this year….

CAMPAIGN GOAL OF 100% PARTICIPATION TOGETHER, WE CAN REACH OUR

everyone Campaign Chairs: Barbara Anik and erica & Jeff rudner

MAZAl Tov To our B’nAI MITZvAH

Hi, my name is Brooke Krishel, and I am excited to become a Bat Mitzvah on January 7th. I am looking forward to this event, which I have been preparing for many years since attending preschool at Temple Aliyah. I am in 7th grade at A.C. Stelle Middle School. I love to dance, and have been taking classes and performing since I was 3 years old. I love all forms of dance, including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop and more. I have been part of Carousel Dance Company since age 7 and have competed nationally. For my Tikkun Olam project, I have been a volunteer at pet adoptions with Pooch Heaven, a non-profit organization that rescues lost and abandoned dogs. I want to thank all my teachers at Temple Aliyah, from preschool and grade school to present, and I especially want to thank Hazzan Mimi, Hazzan Stein, Rabbi Vogel, Rabbi Goldstein, Rabbi Adam, Sarah Kayne and the staff for helping me to prepare for this special day.

Brooke KrishelDaughter of Annabelle & Danny KrishelJanuary 7, 2017

Hi! My name is Samantha Nadler and I am excited to become a Bat Mitzvah on January 14th. I am an 8th grader at Chaminade Middle School. I am very active in my school community and I especially enjoy being a member of my school’s cheerleading team. For my Tikkum Olam project, I am working with my cheer team to make blankets to donate to an organization called Binky Patrol. The blankets will be distributed to children in local shelters and hospitals. My family and I have been members of Temple Aliyah since I was 4 years old, and I have been attending religious school there since I was in 1st grade. I’d like to thank all of my SCJLL teachers, Hazzan Mimi, Hazzan Stein, Rabbi Vogel and Temple Aliyah for all their help and support. I would also like to thank my family, especially my cousins, Lexi and Joey, and my dad for helping me prepare for this day.

Hi, my name is Jacob Rosoff, and I am excited to be having my Bar Mitzvah with my twin brother, Zachary. I go to A.C. Stelle Middle School, and I love to play soccer. My dad is our coach, and my favorite position is striker. I also love to play golf, and my brother and I are on the Junior PGA Tour! I also love to play piano and listen to music. For my Tikkun Olam project, my brother, sister and I sold baked goods in order to raise money for a family in Costa Rica. While visiting the family, we used the money to buy groceries and a refrigerator for the mother’s jelly business. We also brought clothes with us to give to the children. This experience opened my eyes. I realized that I am more fortunate than most people are. The family we visited was so poor that the youngest girl proudly showed us that she had one whole drawer to herself. It taught me that sometimes we take too much for granted and don’t recognize how much other people need. I would like to thank Rabbi Vogel, Rabbi Goldstein, Hazzan Mimi and Hazzan Stein for helping me prepare for this special day. Without them, none of this could have happened. Also, my parents help me so much, and I am very grateful. I would also like to thank my grandparents who are always there for me. Finally, I am thankful to my siblings, who are kind and caring. I love you all.

Jacob RosoffSon of Kera & Cary Rosoff January 21, 2017

Hi, my name is Joshua Zvi. I am a 7th grader at A.C. Stelle Middle School. My family and I have been members at Temple Aliyah since 2011 when we moved to California. In some ways, becoming members at Temple Aliyah was like returning home, because my father was a member at Temple Aliyah when he grew up. I look forward to becoming a Bar Mitzvah on January 14th and celebrating with my family and friends. In my free time, I enjoy soccer, track, reading, fantasy sports and video games. Video games are my passion. Whether its playing head-to-head against my brother or playing group-based missions with my friends, most weekends I’m online playing XBox. For my mitzvah project, I am volunteering with Aid for Hope, a nonprofit charity founded by fellow Temple Aliyah member, Jacob Turobiner. Aid for Hope assists the local homeless community by educating people about this issue and supplying first-aid kits to the homeless. I would like to thank Hazzan Mimi, Hazzan Stein, Rabbi Goldstein and Rabbi Vogel for helping me prepare for this special day. I would also like to thank my family for their support in helping me reach this milestone.

Hi, my name is Avrie Levy and I have been coming to Temple Aliyah since I was in 3rd grade. I am now in 7th grade, and I cannot believe how much I have learned and grown. I go to Lindero Canyon Middle School in Agoura Hills. I enjoy dance, DIY projects, cooking and fashion. For my Tikkun Olam project, I decided to help at the Jewish Home for the Aging, because I enjoy spending time with their residents and they really look forward to visitors, especially younger people. Sadly, I don’t have my own grandparents anymore and this allows me to spend time with the elderly and some of those without visitors, children or grandchildren to have company. I feel when you just talk with one of the residents it really brightens up their day, and it does for me too. Spending valuable time with them or even just waving hello makes them feel so much better—smiles go a long way. I love to volunteer in general, from school events, to Temple events, and even in my own neighborhood. I feel like if I volunteer in my community at Temple Aliyah, I can be a great B’nai Mitzvah. I would like to thank Hazzan Mimi for all her tireless help in this process. She really went above and beyond to make sure I would learn the prayers and provided me with the confidence and tutoring I needed. I would also like to thank Hazzan Mike Stein and Rabbi Goldstein, as they have been amazing in helping me in the process of becoming a Bat Mitzvah. I would also like to thank my mom for all her support, love and for driving me back and forth on her work and free time. Thank you to the Temple Aliyah community for all your support.

Avrie LevyDaughter of Kim & Joe z”L LevyJanuary 28, 2017

Hi, my name is Zachary Rosoff, and I am a 7th grader at A.C. Stelle Middle School. I am excited to share my Bar Mitzvah with my twin brother and best friend, Jacob. I have been attending Temple Aliyah since I was 2 years old in preschool. I enjoy playing soccer, golf, reading and hanging out with friends. During the summer, I love to go to Camp JCA Shalom and to travel. My Tikkun Olam project was inspired by my family’s trip to Costa Rica last summer. Prior to going, we collected sports equipment and jerseys as well as school supplies to give to a needy school. We also held a bake sale where we raised over $400 for a poor Costa Rican family. We used the money as well as our own to buy new clothes for the children, groceries for the family and a refrigerator for the mother’s jelly and candy business. It was very humbling to see how our efforts made such a difference in this family’s life. I am thankful to my mom, dad, sister and brother for all of their love and support throughout this journey. My grandparents love me so much, and I am very grateful for their help. I am also very thankful to Rabbi Vogel, Rabbi Goldstein, Hazzan Mimi and Hazzan Stein for helping me with all of my Bar Mitzvah work. Lastly, I would like to thank all of you for celebrating my Bar Mitzvah with me. Shabbat Shalom!

My name is Jordyn Feenberg and I am in 7th grade at A.C. Stelle Middle School. I am excited and looking forward to my responsibilities of becoming a Bat Mitzvah. I started at Temple Aliyah when I was only 1 year old with my brother Josh in the “Mommy and Me” program, and we have been here ever since. I am so lucky to be able to share this special day with my twin brother, Josh. For our Tikkun Olam project, Josh and I formed the “Calabasas Kids for the Cure” team for the 2016 Dribble for the Cure event. At this event, the Bruin Basketball team joined forces with The Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF) to raise funds for the cancer research program at Mattel Children’s Hospital. The PCRF’s goal is to remain steadfast in their mission to give every child a cancer-free future. My brother and I have also been working with the West Hills Champions baseball program serving as buddies for our fellow A.C. Stelle student with special needs. We have been fortunate enough to be able to spend Sundays playing baseball with our “Champion.” A special thank you to my parents for everything they do, to my big sister for serving as an amazing role model and my brother for always being by my side. I would also like to thank Rabbi Vogel, Hazzan Stein and especially Hazzan Mimi for guiding me through this meaningful journey.

Jordyn FeenbergDaughter of Suzie & Mike FeenbergJanuary 28, 2017

My name is Josh Feenberg, and I am looking forward to becoming a Bar Mitzvah on January 28th along with my twin sister Jordyn. I attend 7th grade at A.C. Stelle Middle School. My parents joined Temple Aliyah when they got married, and I have been learning and playing here since I can remember. For our Tikkun Olam project, my sister and I raised money as team captains for UCLA’s 2016 Dribble for the Cure event. This event raises money for the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation at UCLA’s Mattel Children’s Hospital. My sister and I have also been working with our “Champion,” Logan, through the West Hills Champions special needs baseball program. Every Sunday, we spend our mornings as Logan’s “Buddies,” helping Logan play baseball. I want to thank my parents for supporting me in everything that I do, my big sister for leading the way and my twin sister for always being there for me. I would also like to thank Rabbi Vogel, Hazzan Stein and Hazzan Mimi for helping me prepare for this special day.
