MESSAGE from the Principal

Greetings to all!

We would like to give thanks to our Lord God Almighty for having successfully completed the first term of 2016 and we are now into the second term.

On 2 July 2016, we will be celebrating our 70 years of Methodist private education in Seremban. We want to thank parents for your support and hope you will be at our thanksgiving dinner and concert.

On 16 July 2016, WMSS is having an Open Day. This year we will conduct a workshop for Year 6 students in UPSR English. Parents, your friends and relatives who have children in Year 6 are most welcome to register for the workshop. They will learn English components in a fun way, be exposed to the new exam format of UPSR English 2016 and get to practise a sample paper in the new format.

For the second term we will focus on intensive preparation for public and final examinations. We have completed our co-curricular activities and this alloc ated time will be used to coach students in their academics. We continue to expose our students to external assessments in Mathematics, English and Creative Writing through The International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS). This school is transforming towards excellence and we endeavour to introduce students to a wider range of possibilities so that their minds are open and receptive to learning. PT3 students are in the midst of doing their History and Geography projects. PT3 Trial exam, SPM Trial 1, Trial 2, Mid Second Term tests and Final exams will follow suit. We recognize that regular attendance and punctuality are vital to a student’s success in school. With that in mind, we would like to work with you in maintaining the best possible attendance record for your child.

Extra Co-curricular Activities

From July onwards, all school extra co-curricular activities for the year will cease to prepare all students for exam. School hours remain unchanged.

Outstanding School Fees

Parents who have yet to settle the 2nd semester school fees are reminded do so as soon as possible.

At our annual Wesley Games this year, we participated in Basketball, Futsal & Table Tennis. This time round our teams showed good improvement in their

performance. Congratulations

to our Basketball and Table Tennis teams for winning second placing. Our thanks goes to WMS Klang for organising this event.

“Happy Teachers’ Day! That was the first greeting the teachers received when they arrived in school that morning. It was the first time after so long we celebrated this appreciation day on its actual date.

The celebration was held in the hall. The MOE Minister’s Speech was read out, teachers took their oath and sang the teacher’s day song and students rendered a few items. After the gift exchange, cake-cutting and photo-taking, the teachers challenged the students in several indoor games.

The celebration concluded with a lunch treat from the school provided by our canteen caterer.

Teachers’ Day is indeed a great way to appreciate our teachers.

This year, WMSS had the privilege to organise

this camp. There were 70 Campers, Counsellors

& Facilitators who participated. Our theme for

this camp was Be Strong, Be Brave, Be fearless

taken from Joshua 1:9. Our Speaker was Mr

Joshua Snyder form YWAM while his team

members conducted several workshops.

This 1-day seminar was organised by the COE at CCM, Petaling Jaya. Its aim is to develop and build good people skills to enable us to carry out our respective roles more effectively.

WMSS was represented by the Principal, Vice-Principal, Admissions Manager, 3 Teachers and 1 admin staff.
