Chronology of Phase-II Proposal
• 3rd JPC Direction in June ‘02 to prepare Ph-II Proposal– Proposal submitted to ARDB & TC by November ‘02
• 4th SPC Direction in July ‘03 to update the proposal– Updated proposal submitted to JPC in August ‘03
• 4th JPC in September ‘03, suggested changes in financial model and referred it to a subcommittee– Modified Proposal submitted to subcommittee in October ‘03
• Subcommittee accepted the current form of proposal– Final proposal submitted to AR&DB and TC on 5th Nov. ‘03
Philosophy of Phase-II Proposal
Centre Element
Consisting of shared infrastructure for providing support to educational programme and to other two elements.
Project Elements
Consisting of a large number of Generic and Focused Research and Development activities in the areas of System Design, Development and Integration.
Awareness Creation Element
Consisting of conduct of Short term Courses, Workshops and Discussion Meetings that CASDE has been organizing on a regular basis.

Concluding Remarks
• Phase-II of CASDE is configured as a period for consolidation and sustained overall growth.
• It is viewed as a time during which CASDE would– Achieve Core Competences through Generic Studies
– Develop Applications through Focused Activities
– Create Awareness & Disseminate New Knowledge
– Act as a SDE Facilitator to User/Interested Agencies
• Phase-II of CASDE is also characterized by its efforts to seek a suitable partnership with other agencies within, as well as outside of, DRDO.
• We, at CASDE, see our future as an ARDB COE, yet requiring only a minimal support from ARDB.

MSO-DMES is of Aeronautical Society of India and CASDE would play a supporting role in organizing this.
