Harp SealThey have a thick layer of fat called blubber under their skin to keep them warm.Seal cubs have white fur when they are young. Their fur helps hide them from predators like polar bears.When the cubs grow older, their colour changes from white to grey.

WalrusBoth male and females have tusks.They have lots of blubber to keep them warm.They like to eat fish, krill and shellfish. Sometimes they even eat octopus!They can stay under water for 30 minutes before coming back up for air.

Killer WhaleThey hunt in pods (large groups).They like to eat seals, fish and even other whales!!They are black and white and have a thick layer of blubber to keep them warm.They can slide on the ice to help them catch seals.

Musk OxThey have thick, bushy fur to keep them warm.They like to eat roots and mosses and use their hooves to dig through the snow to reach their food.They like to be in herds.When frightened they stand in a circle facing outwards to help keep them safe from predators such as Arctic wolves.

NarwhalFound in pods of 2-10.They have a very long spiral tusk that looks like a unicorn horn.They like to eat fish, shrimp and squid.Inuit's like to hunt Narwhal for their tusk and skin.They have thick blubber to keep them warm.

LemmingThey have thick fur to keep them warm.They hide beneath the snow from predators such as snowy owls, Arctic foxes and Arctic wolves.They like to eat seeds, grass and berries.They are about 8cm long and have very sharp teeth.

WolverineThey are very fierce and powerful.They like to eat rabbits and small rodents.They have heavy, thick hair which keeps them warm.In the summer they eat berries and plants.They have brown and black fur with two yellowish stripes on their back.

BelugaIs a white whale.They usually live in small pods.They feed on fish, crustaceans and worms.They have thick blubber to keep them warm and have folds of blubber on their bellies.They are very social animals.

ReindeerThey have soft brown fur with white fur on their necks and back.They eat mosses, grass and plants and dig for their food with their hooves in the snow.They have large antlers which they shed in the winter. They are also know as Caribou.
