Take time to soak up the atmosphere of this cosy district as you relax in one of the small cafés. Best of all, Trondheim can be explored easily on foot – most of the historic centre is on a small island reached by a series of bridges.

Scenic Cruising From Trondheim, we embark on a day of scenic cruising including the pretty island village of Rørvik on the eastern part of the Vikna archipelago. Further north we pass the Torghatten – the mountain with an unusual hole in it. Then, there’s a chance to admire the Seven Sisters mountain range, with their distinctive peaks towering 3,500 ft high. After crossing the Arctic Circle, you will have the opportunity to see one of the most famous glaciers in Norway, the mighty Svartisen.

TromsøThe city of Tromsø is known as the ‘Gateway to the Arctic’. Hidden away in Norway’s inter-coastal passage and surrounded by mountain peaks, one of the best places to truly appreciate the beauty of Tromsø’s location is from high on top of Mount Storsteinen. Admire

one of the city’s most notable landmarks – The Arctic Cathedral, inspired by Norway’s dramatic landscape. Tromsø is the port from where your Arctic exploration truly begins.

Recommended tours: Wilderness Centre & Sami Camp – Visit a Sami camp, learn about their culture and meet the people in national costume . The Wilderness Centre is home to over 240 huskies.

HonnigsvågHonningsvåg is framed by rugged mountains and the icy Arctic Ocean. This beautiful little fi shing port, with distinctive pastel-shaded buildings, attracts tourists from all over the world. From here it is possible to reach the North Cape, the most northerly point of mainland Europe. When standing on the cliff top alongside the famous Globe monument, the only land between you and the North Pole is the Svalbard archipelago.

Recommended tour: Zodiac Adventure & Icebar – Take a ride in the Zodiac infl atable boat, experience sub-arctic nature, bird life and historic sights. Afterwards, enjoy a d rink at the Artico ice bar where everything is made from natural ice!

Scenic Cruising – Bear Island and the Midnight Sun Bear Island is the most southerly island of Svalbard and is home to a thriving bird population.
