Hotel MagazineNewsWhite tablecloth versus natural tabletop surface in restaurants The route to take?
The use of a crisp white tablecloth does offer benefits to the hotel restaurant and the diner, which many overlook. In our psyche there is a link between more formal high end fine dining and the use of a white tablecloth, so that the qua-
lity expectation is in part already met before the food arrives.A white tablecloth also allows the cleaness, purity of materials, and ove-rall article quality, whether it be of the glassware, dinnerware or cutlery, to be far more apparent and visible to the diner.
It is possible to see any colour tint contained within the material of less quality driven wine glasses and water glasses when they sit on a white table-cloth. It is, therefore, essential to use glassware that is made from a high qua-lity material like Kwarx®, which is com-pletely colourless and devoid of tints, and is more refined in manufacture, with a better rim finish, bowl quality, and no blemishes anywhere to be seen.Dark wood or dark stone surfaces of tables can make a quality impression as premium warm white dinnerware and thick guaged polished 18-10 cut-lery stands off the dark surface far bet-
ter. The initial impression though is of casual dining, unless the other aspects of the restaurant interior and furnishings are also high quality and well co-ordina-ted!The more cutting edge fine dining res-taurants are now taking aspects from both routes to tableware and food dis-play, using ‘black’ tablecloths. There is a fine dining connotation yet the colour of the food and the warm white dinne-rware stands out like a shining beacon for everyone to see. The first taste is with your eyes!

Wyndham EMEA Summit in Barcelona, Spain, March 2016
Arc Launches its new corporate identity
Arc attended the Wyndham Hotel Group EMEA Summit in Barcelona, Spain following presenting Chef&Sommelier® and Kwarx® to Wyndham in Shanghai, China. Hotels were amazed with the strength and durability attributes of products in Kwarx®. Following requests, a cost saving case study is now available for hotels to view. Please send your request for this document to: [email protected].
Sublym
Kwarx® keeps its shiny sparkle wash after wash.
Extraordinary brilliance that has been tested in laboratory conditions over morethan two thousand industrial washes.
Never-ending sparkle
Kwarx® seems to vanish, to enable the range of colours
in each wine to be appreciated.
Completely transparent glasses, due to the fact that they are completely colourless.
Complete transparency
Kwarx® is incredibly resistant under everyday conditions.
Solidity is obtained by an invisible but very strong bond between the bases, the stems and the bowls of glasses, which results in a perfectly smooth surface which does not have weak points.
Highly resistant
The Arc Group is once again experiencing exciting times. The company, like its image, has evolved and changed in order to strengthen its position as the worldwide glassware leader.
The new corporate logo has therefore been redesigned to embody these changes, but also to convey the new spirit and the group
values. Dynamic, young, design oriented, and playful with its colors, shapes, and transparency play, this new logo represents the groups positioning and its involvement in innovation, quality, and customer service.

Hot topics: hot drinks
More and more hotels, restaurants and bars realise that there is an upsurge in the popularity and demand for hot drinks. Coffee shops and cafes are spreading to towns and cities everywhere. The café culture has made expectations of gourmet tea and coffee the norm. Consumers are now demanding a similar quality and variety in their at-home recreations as they find in specialist hot drinks establishments.
Interest in "gourmet" hot drinks is driven by the growing trend towards novel seasonal flavors, and
the culture of recreation and sharing that this has built. Around two fifths of consumers globally find season-specific flavors appealing, while even more favor products targeted at experiences with peers.
Hotels now need to look at a more trendy fashionable ways to present hot drinks to endorse the product quality and build on this global appeal.

Project Review Radisson Blu Las Palmas, Gran Canaria
Hotel MagazineNews
Radisson Blu Las Palmas, Gran Canaria couldn’t be in a more ideallic location with blue seas and palm trees surrounding the hotel complex. The glassware for the restaurant and bar therefore, needed to be elegant and stylish to match the setting, but durable and hard wearing to suit the busy holiday environment. Cabernet Tulip in the Kwarx® material from Chef&Sommelier was selected for the wine glasses and Salto from Arcoroc® for the water glass.
Project ReviewKempinski Hotel Frankfurt Gravenbruch, GermanyFollowing the Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt Gravenbruch’s highly successful replacement of German Cristalline with 6000 pieces of Sublym from Chef & Sommelier®, in the Kwarx® material, where breakage reduced dramatically, the fine dine restaurant decided to replace their product with the beautiful and sylish Reveal’ Up range, also from Chef&Sommelier®.

CONCEPTION GRAPHIQUE : Arc Design - AN18116
The Cotton House is a luxury hotel in Barcelona and when reviewing the dinnerware options available that would signal high quality and an appreciation of cutting edge design it selected Ginseng from Chef&Sommelier. The matt and gloss glaze used texture rather than colour to stimulate interest but the warm white porcelain was equally at home on the terrace as it was in the plush lavish restaurant.
Project ReviewServatur Hotel, Gran Canaria
The Servatur Hotel, Gran Canaria is a busy holiday property, which is full day in and day out during the peak season. Products for the restaurant and bar therefore need to be strong and durable, and able to withstand
the everyday knocks. This is one of the reasons Fully Toughened Granity tumblers from Arcoroc® and Cabernet Tulip stemware in the Kwarx® material from Chef&Sommelier® were the perfect choice.
