Contour canopy edge detail is standard to all MakMax modular systems. With their sleek look, contour canopy edges suggest a feeling of ‘lightless’ and streamline the overall design of the structures. Quasar and St Tropez models are available only with Contour edges.

Linear canopy edge detail is optional for both Monaco and Pavilion models. Linear canopy edges are suited more towards specialised projects where side blinds and/or rainwater gutters are to be fitted to the structure(s).

The Linear option increases your coverage by up to 26% (depending on module size) when compared with Contour edge structures. For example; a 12x12m (144sqm) module with a Linear edge option will provide an additional 26sqm of cover – allowing 2sqm per patron – that’s 13 additional customers!

Photocatalytic membranes with TiO2 coating technology are optional on all MakMax umbrellas. They promise enduring beauty, translucence and ‘as new’ appearances for many years.

When PVC membranes are coated with titanium dioxide (TiO2) photo-catalyst, they inherit self-cleaning properties that’s far superior to conventional membranes.

A self-cleaning action (Photocatalytic Decomposition Process) that occurs as the TiO2 causes any organic matter (stain or pollutant) to decompose through simple oxidation.

The residue does not adhere to the surface and is washed away by water or rain. The ‘sheeting’ action of water across the surface assures no unsightly streaking is left behind due to beading.

Choose from a wide range of fabric and steel powdercoat colours, or opt for marine grade 316, all stainless steel frame.

Textured paint options are available including a matt finish.

With increasing awareness and global pressure regarding greenhouse emissions, carbon footprints and energy efficiencies, it is clear that tensile membrane can be a highly efficient building material.

Greener by design

LightweightTensile Membrane has the ability to span long distances, cover vast spaces and achieve stunning visual effects while requiring only a fraction of the structural support required by traditional building materials.

Less is moreBecause translucent membranes transmit up to 92% of daylight, they provide a naturally superior light source and dramatically reduce the demands on electricity. Multiply this natural illumination by large areas and the ecological and economical savings are substantial.

Greener and cleanerOur TiO2 coating technologies reduce the need for cleaning chemicals because our self-cleaning fabrics resist dirt, stains and pollutants; a little rain will restore the surface back to original.

Insulation Translucent membranes transmit up to 92% of daylight while reflecting the heat associated with traditional glazing. This provides natural illumination that is cooler on the hottest days yet warmer in winter. The cost efficiencies on heating, cooling and lighting are considerable when compared to traditional methods.

LongevitySince longevity is the key to reduced manufacturing processes, all our materials are created to endure the most extreme elements (rain, wind, snow, sun) from 10 to 30 plus years. The life spans outlast traditional materials and sustain little or no deterioration of appearances.

MakMax products are also designed for disassembly; most can also be reassembled in alternate locations.

RecyclableWe aim for no-waste, low waste so all our materials, including steel are recyclable. ETFE is a cradle-to-cradle material with the entire fabric components recycled back into ETFE. Kanafine® is recycled into paper products such as envelopes. We work with our suppliers to facilitate recycling wherever possible.

The MakMax guaranteeMakMax Architectural Umbrellas are Australian designed and made in quality controlled conditions. They’re built to last. The tensile canopies have an expected life of up to 15 years with a finish that’s low maintenance, pollution resistant and rot free. The canopies are made from architectural grade, UV-stabilised, PVDF-coated fabric (with the option of acrylic-coated coloured fabric for all models).

The steel frames are manufactured from smooth-finish galvanised steel with a scratch-resistant double layer of TriplexTM, arguably the best steel powder-coat protection system available today. Alternatively select marine-grade 316 stainless steel structure frames for a high-tech, decidedly upmarket look. For all models, exposed fittings, cables and connectors are manufactured from marine grade 316 stainless steel, simply the best quality available, designed to stand the test of time.
