Having the Holy Sacrifice of Mass offered is more effective than flowers or memorial gifts for your deceased loved ones or as a special intention for a living person or special occasion. Mass Intentions can be placed in a “Mass Intention” envelope and placed in the collection basket or given to the priest or the appropriate person at your parish. Please indicate if the person is living or deceased and the date you would like the Mass to be said. Mass dates are filled on a “first-come, first-serve” basis.

Parish Membership & Benefits: To be considered an “active” member of any parish (and thus eligible for Sacraments, sponsor eligibility, and the “Active Parishioner Rate of tuition” at a Catholic school), the parish takes into account the following things. First, to receive a discount at a Catholic School or to receive a sacrament, the children MUST attend weekend Mass. Second, family & individual involvement in parish life and ministries are taken into consideration. Mass attendance is only able to be tracked accurately via collection envelopes. Help Us Help Others

Detergent and Shampoo Needed for Our Neighbor Our Neighbor in Weston is in need of shampoos and detergent. St. Patrick Church will be doing a special collection for these items throughout the month of December. Please leave them in the church vestibule or drop them off at the parish office. Rose Neal will pick up and deliver the item to Our Neighbor each week. Beginning in January of 2020, St. Pat’s will collect an item a month for Our Neighbor as we did for many years. We will talk with Sandy King the director of the organization to make sure we collect the things they need the most.

Collection for the National Guard 30th Armored

Brigade The National Guard 30th Armored Brigade is made up of units from North and South Carolina and includes soldiers from West Virginia. These soldiers are deployed and will be in Syria for the holidays.

Good Shepherd is heading this collection and St. Patrick and St. Boniface Churches are assisting in the effort. This is an easy way to support those who are protecting our freedom every day. Items to be collected include water flavoring packets (Crystal Light, Kool-Aid, etc.), beef jerky, hard candy, slim jims, foot powder, ramen noodles, lens cleaning cloths, hard candy, high-quality socks, and sunflower seeds. Please, no chocolate items.

Annual Food Drive

Collecting has begun for the annual food drive for the Christmas food baskets given out at Christmas at St. Patrick Church. The classes of St. Patrick School collect various items to help with the drive. Each class is assigned a different food item or items. When buying food for the drive, remember that soups, stews crackers and individual meals, are needed as well as var ious canned goods and other non-perishable food items. Due to the school’s collection, we do not need cake and pancake mixes, stuffing or instant potatoes. The deadline for food donations is December 15.

Toy Drive New and gently used toys are being collected. Toys must be received by December 11. These items will be donated to Our Neighbor.

Winter Clothing Drive

Don’t leave others out in the cold this winter. Donate new or gently used coats, hats, clothes and scarves for those who need them. Donations will be received through Dec. 11

and will be given to Our Neighbor.

Thanksgiving Prayer

O God, ever good and merciful, Look graciously upon us

As we celebrate Thanksgiving Day. Our nation has been richly blessed,

And we thank you for the necessities of life that so many of us enjoy in

abundance. May we never take these gifts

for granted Or forget that they come from you,

The Creator and Author of life.

We pray for those among us who suffer

As a result of material, Spiritual, or moral poverty.

Enkindle in us a greater charity Toward our neighbor in need, and help us as people to build

A more just and peaceful society and world.

We pray in a special way for those who are persecuted for their faith

throughout the globe. Thank you, Father,

for all Your blessings, in the Name of Christ Our Lord.

Amen
