The Drive & Motion Control Unit di Gefran, based in

tures for renewable energy systems.

The module strings are connected directly or via a DC string box to the central in-verter centralizzato.

The accessories designed for use with the RADIUS range of inverters achieve total plant manage-ment with advanced, easy-to-use technol-ogy.

Central invertersWith their enhanced control algorithms and use of low-loss power components, the PV inverters in the RADIUS Industrial range guarantee high-level performance and maximum energy conversion from the PV array under all operating conditions.

High quality standards and latest-generation power technology ensure superior long-term reliability.

The RADIUS Industrial provides really fast returns on investments.

The ultra-compact and lightweight RADIUS Industrial is easy to use and simple to install as it incorporates Plug & Play tech-nology, an intuitive LCD screen and automatic operation even in conditions of reduced radiation.

It features a wide MPPT voltage range and maximum values of up to 1000 Vdc, giving installers maximum flexibility in the choice of plant configuration, number and length of strings and type of modules.

The type of configuration is important in order to optimise the technical and economic planning of the plant.

The RADIUS Industrial can be operated without derating up to ambient temperatures of 50°C.

Tolerance of high temperatures and thermostatically-controlled cooling guarantee efficient operation and long service life of the inverter, without the need for an air-conditioning system.

"TL" (Transformerless) Central Modular InvertersThe GEFRAN RADIUS Modular system offers modular PV inverter configurations which are also suitable for power ratings of over one megawatt.

The possibility of choosing the single power modules according to the solar generator means multi-inverter systems can be created and specifically optimised for each MPPT, using solutions developed around the basic stand-alone modules.

Since each inverter is operated independently, any losses in the event of one of the modules stopping are drastically re-duced.

Each application is engineered and built to customer specifications, bearing in mind their electrical requirements as well as their logistical and organisational needs.

RADIUS Modular systems offer technical flexibility and thus facilitate the technical and economic optimisation of the entire PV plant. With the Modular solution, adding or removing individual power modules is also extremely quick and simple.

The TL (TransformerLess) version is particularly suitable for multi-inverter plant configurations in which the inverters are joined via a parallel connection to the grid. The use of a single grid output transformer, instead of several dedicated trans-formers, results in an even more efficient and far more cost-effective plant.

GEFRAN provides complete solutions for container and prefabricated electric cabinets approved by utilities, ready for con-nection to the MV distribution grid and designed to house parallel electric cabinets, inverters, medium voltage transformers, DC circuit breakers, anti-islanding protection devices and other accessories.

The housing is suitable for permanent outdoor installation. Cabinets may be fixed or mobile, according to customer specifi-cations. Mobile cabinets are designed to be transported and set in place using a vehicle equipped with hoisting equipment.

Air-conditioned cabinets are also available upon request, to enable faster elimination of condensation. However, all compo-nents receive adequate natural ventilation, especially the transformer, so that they do not exceed the maximum overtem-peratures that are allowed.

Cabinets are supplied as turnkey solutions and are specifically designed to ensure access to all internal components and inverters, to facilitate inspection, servicing and repairs.

String invertersRadius Industrial string inverters have power ratings of 10.2 kW up to 20 kW.

The use of advanced technology and low-loss components, and the absence of a transformer, make it possible to achieve peak efficiency of 98%.

The wide voltage range of up to 400-800 VDC responds to the need to reduce installation costs, as the reduced number of strings involves less DC cables.

The double MPPT channel is an additional advantage that allows "independent" DC inputs to be used if the PV field has a "non-uniform structure" or features several strings with different orientations and inclinations; it also allows better monitor-ing of strings and fewer mismatching losses. Thanks to the potential of the multi-MPPT tracking system, reduced energy production times due to partial shading are also cut to a minimum.

The RADIUS JBX-COM is a parallel string connec-tion system that measures the current in each string to enable continuous monitoring of correct module opera-tion and detection of any faults on defective strings.

Faulty strings are immediately identified and located so that service technicians know which strings need repair-ing without touching the others.

The surge arrestors are recommended when the invert-er is installed more than 30 metres from the string box.

The wide voltage range of up to 1000 VDC makes this unit compatible with all modules, including latest-gen-eration cells.

MONITORING

Plant data can be remotely accessed and displayed at any time. PV plant moni-toring is performed by simply logging-in to the web portal where the values of energy produced, the economic returns generated and even the reduction of CO2

emissions are displayed in real-time.

REPORTING

Reports monitoring energy production can be stored, printed or e-mailed. In the event of stoppages, they can be used as "certified proof" of loss of production to claim insurance under the State incentive package.

ALARM DIAGNOSTICS

The data logger also acquires any alarm signals coming from the strings and in-verter so that these can be detected remotely, reported to our service technicians (by fax, e-mail or SMS) and eliminated as soon as possible.

AMBIENT MEASUREMENTS

The data logger also measures "ambient" variables that could affect proper plant operation: ambient temperature, module temperature, radiation and wind speed.

These data are measured by external sensors and sent to the control server which interfaces with a satellite weather-forecasting service, compares the data and re-ports any differences in messages sent by fax, e-mail or SMS. Plausibility checks are performed to eliminate any false alarms.

The maintenance contract includes a yearly inspection or online check, on a date agreed upon in advance with the customer, to make sure that each single component is in perfect working order.

Quality checks are performed once a year and include a general overhaul and replacement of any worn or critical parts to prevent the risk of future malfunctioning. Detailed records are kept of all work that is performed and any re-pairs are noted in the service report.

WarrantyExtensionContractThe extended warranty gives you the chance to extend the manufacturer's warranty. This cover offers the best value for money, as it includes unlimited assistance, even after the end of the warranty period. All you have to do is call.

The contract includes an emergency service following re-ceipt of the written request for technical assistance.
