PerformanceEnergy harvest gains up to 20% !Per module MPPT maximizes production (module mismatch)Low light performance +1% energy harvest

SafetyLow Voltage DC (at module level – 55V max)No arc-fault risk (High voltage DC arc-fault may cause fire)Better human protection, no risk of against electrical shocksEasy to meet safety requirements (ex. public buildings, sensible environments)

ReliabilityHighest enclosure rating in industry: NEMA 6 / IP67 Filled with an encapsulating compound (potting) - improved heat dissipation and component protection

Low thermal footprint - reduces thermal cycling & component stress, a primary cause of wear-out in inverters

Quality focus through all levels at APsystems ‘(10% staff dedicated to Quality)Reliable semiconductor integration reduces component count

SimplicityPlug & Play cabling & accessories to simplify installationAnyone can address a module or micro inverter issue onsiteNo DC string designFew SKU for all projects (easy and cost effective stock management)

Page 14: APsystems Value Proposition

System Availability No single point of failure

A popular shopping center near Honolulu, Hawaii, has become an ambitious — and highly successful — proving ground for commercial solar power and APsystems microinverter technology. The APsystems chip-based architecture allowed each microinverter to be specially programmed to accommodate Hawaii’s high (277V AC) 3-phase grid standard. APsystems YC500 units were ideally matched to the installation’s large, 305-watt PV modules. Nearly every available square foot of the shopping center’s rooftop is now outfitted with a productive solar array, creating a powerful 929 kW commercial system.

Grow Community on Bainbridge Island is the largest planned, solar-ready neighborhood in Washington state, USA. This new urban development is the model of sustainable living, with beautiful solar-powered, net-zero energy homes, healthy transportation options, and shared community gardens. Solar output of individual residential systems ranges from 2.9 kW to 8.9 kW, with more than 112 kW capacity completed. With a goal of completing 132 residential units by 2016, all with solar systems featuring APsystems Microinverters, Grow Community will eventually save between 2.5 and 3 tons of coal per year.

The acclaimed new art museum in downtown Bainbridge Island showcases the work of fine artists and craftspeople from around the Pacific Northwest. The distinctive LEED Gold building, located in the island’s prominent Gateway district near the ferry terminal, embodies forward thinking in aesthetics, sustainable construction and energy independence. Designers chose APsystems Microinverters and Itek PV modules for the building’s large solar array, which will produce a peak 14.4 kW to power the museum.

Recently completed near Shanghai, China, this 6 MW commercial project is currently the largest completed microinverter installation in the world with more than 12,000 APsystems YC500 units installed. The project includes a variety of roof types, with the largest capacity of any single roof producing 358 kW of energy. Roofs of colored steel tile cause high temperatures and a small radiation space, requiring more rigorous controls on microinverter performance. The success of this installation shows APsystems’ breakthroughs in microinverter technologies and their application.

The Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall is the largest concert space in Washington, D.C., and one of the most revered buildings in the nation’s capital. Bringing solar to this National Historic Landmark Building posed an exceptional challenge: any renovation or addition would have to preserve the architectural integrity of the structure – including the roof. TenKsolar and installer Standard Solar met the challenge with the proprietary REFLECT PV system, which includes APsystems YC500 microinverters. The Constitution Hall ended up with a larger, and lighter system, maximizing the DAR organization’s solar investment, and preserving the national landmark building for years to come.
