In the April 2010 Pelican Harbor Tidbits a note from the president voiced his view of

“THE EMEMY WITHIN”. In case you missed his note in the Pelican Harbor Tidbits, here it is once more.

There has been something I have to get off of my chest. For some time there have been a few people trying to tear down this

Park! There are approximately four families that are trying to be “THE ENEMY WITHIN”. They wreak havoc for about six

months and then they leave just like a bunch of LOCUST’s they do not take part in any of the park events or try to improve the

park, they just try to destroy. I, as many, am a full time resident and have to live with the damage that they have caused. I, for

one, am not going to allow these immature, hateful and vindictive people to tear down all that we have accomplished! The

fate of this park is in hands of the good people regardless if you are part time or full time residents. You are the only ones

that can stop them. Stand up and be heard for the good of the park. I hope you do. Bill Bokus

As concerned citizens of an alliance called Team Pelican Harbor launched March of 2010, we want to

assist the president in ending this entire immature, hateful and vindictive behavior that he speaks

about in the Pelican Harbor Tidbits. As a new organization we are disappointed with the president‟s

message and it is unfortunate he has made insinuations about our neighbors in Pelican Harbor. In

order to end these concerns he speaks about, it would be our recommendation that the president

should be clear on exactly what these families have done. Without the facts of what these inferred

„LOCUSTS‟ are doing to harm the park, we are once again dealing with rumors. We hope that the

president remembers that all residents of our community pay association fees the same as our board

does and should be heard with equal representation. We challenge the president to invite his

“ENEMY WITHIN” to have open dialogue in an open meeting.

Team Pelican Harbor‟s goal is to encourage open communication and the sharing of facts to all

residents in order to have a more transparent, productive governing body for our park. If you would

like to have more information on Team Pelican Harbor please contact anyone on our membership

committee.

Lastly, Jimmie and Wanda Sharp have become the latest recipients of an unsigned note left for them

at the Club House. They would be more than happy to address the author's comments if the author(s)

would kindly come forward. As residents of Pelican Harbor and members of Team Pelican Harbor,

the Sharp's believe that anonymous, personal attacks are counterproductive and serve no purpose in

moving our community forward.

Focal points of the Civic Meeting on March 24th

Meetings recorded and the community will be able to view them soon on the Team Pelican Harbor web site

Robin Leach asked why money was taken from reserves for sewer inspections instead of regular expenses. ~ Board will speak with Gateway and look into it.

Gary Linger brought up two items, one the board had already addressed, second item was the water behind his house~ Board‟s response that they have discussed it and will bring it up again

Monica Moore wanted to know if the board had made a decision on the lawn care service ~ Board needs to meet with the third person and would be getting with the third party the week of the 29

th. Monica asked about a rumor

circulating in the park that the third bid party received privilege information about the other two bids ~ Board is not aware of any. Monica asked about a second rumor that the sewer system again was coming through the park. Board acknowledged that it was true but did not want to dwell on it because it is a big IF but if it does go through it could cost a substantial amount plus there would be a monthly charge like water $34 plus a usage fee

Richard Cardot inquired if anyone had engineering background in lying of sewer lines to get a better idea of what this would cost or advice of what to do? ~ Board replied they do not want to speculate until they know whether it is going to happen. Margaret Zitzmann stated that once it does come through the park has 365 days to hook up.

Larry Law brought up to the board that there are double-standards and that he doesn‟t ever recall being asked or any posting of committees needed. Larry Law volunteered to serve on a fining committee if one was not formed before next fall. ~ Board responded it was hard to get people to serve on a fining committee because you have to turn in your neighbors.

Jim Sharp posed a question if the board knew if any work being done in our park was being done by anyone that wasn‟t properly licensed and insured?~ Board response was not that they were aware of

Barbara Reiss stated that the newsletter be a „positive‟ communication to the park and not be used to get something off of anyone‟s chest. She also inquired if there was any information of renovating the storage unit for the women‟s club? ~ Board‟s response it will not be renovated specifically for the women‟s club. Also in the works is renovating the clubhouse.

Wanda Sharp had confusion about what the quotes were for as Treva McClanahan had one already. ~ Board‟s response was they were getting bids from contractors on what their recommendation and suggestions were for the clubhouse.

Richard Cardot solicited more information on what exactly these quotes are going to cover for example couches, chairs, floors etc.and do we have a committee that is going to be involved? ~ Board is open for suggestions from contractors and it is up to the board to make changes.

Ruth Hendra asked if this work was going to be done in the summer and completed by the fall when residents return. ~ Board does not know

Ron Zipf requested once again what exactly these quotes were for? ~ Board‟s response they don‟t really know. Ron Zipf asked for clarifications if it is bids or suggestions. ~ Board states that they are getting bids on suggestions

Jim Sharp remarked that it was brought up at the last civic meeting - Article 4 Section 4.8 that no director should be compensated for work being done in the park. What is the board‟s position on this as it seems we are breaking our own bylaws? ~ The president stated that he is a contractor with license and insurance and no one can show that it is a conflict of interest. Jim Sharp pointed out that if the sewer is coming through does it makes sense to do anything in the park at this time? Board affirmed they needed to re-discuss it and hold off.

Ron Powell reiterated by reading Article 4 Section 4.8. ~ President‟s response is he does not get paid for being on the board and is a contractor; he is an individual and does not understand why people cannot get this straight. The president also insisted he is not a director on the board and that people are getting technical.

Robin Leach asked is there an update on the three lots on Bayside? ~ President has to get the boards OK and a realtor came out and gave an estimate of the lots. He is asking the board to put up the two lots for sale and keep the one lot separate. Robin then stated we already voted on the lots and that the board would review it and the board would bring the members up to date on the third lot being a parking lot. Treva McClanahan stated they had not reviewed it yet.

Gary Linger brought up if the association members would be told what the asking price of the two lots would be prior to it going to the public? ~ President stated that it would not be a problem.

Monica Moore asked about how to submit a new bylaw that used to be in place? ~ President stated what section it should be placed in and submit it to the board and they would look it over to make sure it wasn‟t frivolous and a waste of time.
