Faith United Methodist Church Cont.Welcome Booklet

What to ExpectWe offer three styles of worship at Faith and we encourage folks to try them all. Even if one works and fits for you and your family, it is often a blessing to experience other styles from time to time. What to WearClothing choices run the gamut among the people of Faith. You will see a few people in ties, but folks feel comfortable even in jeans during our contemporary worship, The Vine. We encourage you to wear whatever YOU are comfortable worshipping in.

WelcomeTo Faith United Methodist ChurchBelong, Believe & Be a Blessing

We at Faith United Methodist Church believe in connecting people with the grace of Jesus.

We belong to God, to each other and to this community. We believe in grace, hope and life eternal. We believe that the good news of Jesus is for everyone and changes everything. All that we do is done to connect people to the life-changing love God revealed and offered in Jesus.

VisionWe at Faith see our community growing in number and depth. We see generations gathering together to eat, laugh, learn and worship. We see committed followers of Jesus alongside people who are curious about God. We see people moving from being receivers to being sharers of grace, from being blessed to being a blessing, from watching to worshiping, from passive to active discipleship. We see a church focused on the impact God calls it to have on individuals, families and the community.

At Faith, you will find so many ways to be a part of God’s community through our worship services and groups. We invite you to join us!

Sunday Gathering Times:8:45 am The Table—A time of prayer, reflection and communion in the Chapel.

10:50 am The Vine—A contemporary service with a band and praise songs in the Worship Center.

Faith KidsAt Faith Kids, our desire is for all children to know the face of God, that God loves them beyond measure, that God has a special plan for their lives, and that His desire for them is to grow and live in the grace of Jesus Christ. Through a Kids Worship experience designed just for them —Sunday school, summer programs, Upwards basketball and football, retreats and Mid-week for upper elementary grades—we strive to educate, enrich and create fun fellowship opportunities for children from infant through 5th grade. Check out faithumc.org under Groups/Children to find out more or contact Pam McLean at [email protected] for more information.

Belong, BelieveAdult Education & MinistryAdult Education & Ministry at Faith is all about meeting people where they are in their faith journey while looking to facilitate Christian growth and deepening relationships with Jesus Christ. From Adult Sunday school classes, to fellowship groups and seasonal book studies, we encourage you to visit several to find just the right fit for your journey with Christ. You’ll find a description of everything we offer at faithumc.org under Groups. Please contact Ross Talbert at [email protected] for more information.

Youth of FaithThe Youth of Faith believe that belonging is the first step in our relationship with Jesus Christ. We offer weekly Bible study along with snack supper, mission projects, retreats and a variety of activities that enable us to connect and grow in our faith. Information for all our Youth activities can be found at faithumc.org under Groups/Youth, and on our Facebook page Faith UMC Youth Group or Faith UMC Richmond Mid – High. Please contact Linda O’Donnell at [email protected] for more information.

Music MinistryFaith’s Music Ministry includes members of all ages that make up a band, children’s choir, traditional choir, contemporary chorus and a hand bell choir. There is room for everyone wanting to assist in providing a spirit-filled Worship experience and to bless others with their talents during Sunday Worship as well as special concerts throughout the year. You can find out more by looking at the Worship tab under Music on our website, faithumc.org. Please contact Suzanne Olmon at [email protected] for more information.

Be a Blessing

MissionsMissions is the place in our church where we focus on Jesus’ command to “love our neighbors as ourselves” in a very real way. One of our convictions is that our community needs community. So come join us at Helping Hands, Fort Bend Ramps, HOME Project, Faith-FULL Kids and Pumpkin Patch, among many others, to be a blessing to those around us. See all of the ways you can get involved at faithumc.org under the Be a Blessing tab. Please contact Ross Talbert at [email protected] for more information.

Caring MinistriesCaring Ministries of Faith provides prayer, communication and support for individuals and families who are in need. Our express purpose is to watch over our congregation and our neighborhoods. Our team members are always there through Marriage Mentoring, Care Team, DivorceCare and Stephen Ministry, among many others, to help show the love of Jesus. See the Caring Ministries section of our website at faithumc.org under Be a Blessing to find all the ways we love our neighbors or contact Kathy Lewelling at [email protected] for more information.

From the Pastor

What a joy it is to introduce you to our church! If you’ve never been to church before, haven’t been in a very long time, or are just new to our area and looking for a place to belong, I hope you’ll visit us. Please come and sense at least some of the wonderful spirit that is present at Faith and let us make you feel right at home. We truly do believe that God is at work here in each of our lives, and it is my prayer that you might find the same to be true in your expe-rience here as well.

You are invited to join us on Sundays and in the programs that we offer at any time. There is something for almost every interest and age grouping and we’d be more than happy to talk with you about those opportunities whenever you’d like. Should you be looking for a church home in our area, we’d be honored to discuss that with you, too. Simply give us a call or shoot us an email and we will try to answer any questions you might have.

Yours in Him,Ben Trammell

Pastor
