LOUISIANA Gold Families,

Since we have returned from sea LOUISIANA and

her crew has been busy. We have worked alongside

the BLUE crew to get her to sea; we had CDR Peters,

relieve CDR Turk as Commanding Officer, enjoyed a

four day stand down, and participated in Command

and Control Exercise trainers, and Navigation trainers

while upholding the highest standards of conduct and

professionalism.

As our leave period approaches I look forward to

each of our Sailors enjoying their leave with family

and friends. This leave period presents the

opportunity for each of us to recharge our batteries

and look forward to the challenges on the horizon.

Upon completion of the seventeen day leave period,

LOUISIANA will enter the trainers for Ship’s

Control, Operations, Fire Fighting trainers and a host

of others. I am sure our men will excel in each of

these areas, while continuing to sharpen their battle

readiness.

Help me wish a farewell to MM1 Ashander, ET1

Smith, ETC Zink and their family’s as they move on

to their next assignment, best of luck to each of them.

Welcome aboard to STSSN Whorton, MMFN

Pennaayala, EM3 O’Hara, and MM3 Ginnings and

each of their families to LOUISIANA.

I encourage each of you to continue to down our path

of success. Maintain a solid, leave/liberty plan; keep

the safety of you and your family in the forefront of

your thoughts and actions. If your plans change

unexpectedly, use all the resources LOUISIANA has

to offer. I wish you all well; enjoy the leave period.
