APRIL EDITION Session 2019-20 Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family... EXTRA PERSONAL SKILLS There are a number of teaching skills that all educators should have. While some teaching skills may vary from teacher to teacher, there are still a few personal skills that are important for all teachers to possess. In addition to being knowledgeable in your area of expertise and having the ability to plan and execute lesson plans, successful teachers also need to possess a few “Extra” personal skills. These specialized teaching skills will not only help you be an eective teacher, but a successful one as well. If you don’t already have the following essential skills, then there is still time to foster them. ¬ Patience Teaching Skills One of the most important qualities a teacher can have is patience. Without patience, you are going to have a really hard time being an eective teacher. Children tend to like to test their teachers’ patience, so if you tend to lose your patience easily, and get angry quickly, then being an educator is not a job for you. Patience is a quality that will help you be successful in the classroom. If this is something that you need to work on, then try a few mindfulness techniques. When you feel your blood is about to boil, then take a moment to step back and take a few deep breaths. The more you do this, the easier it will be for you to settle yourself down in those dicult moments. ¬ Creativity Successful teachers are creative in many ways. They have the ability to think outside of the box, use the resources that they have to create amazing lessons and activities, and come up with creative ways to handle discipline in the classroom. While some people may feel that creativity is something that you are born with, others say that if you just take the time to think and use your imagination, you too can tap into your own creative side. LIST OF IMPORTANT DAYS IN MAY: Ms. Shalini Manoj Chairperson Employers expect employees to be team players. Teamwork is required for almost every industry. Included is a detailed list of the five most important teamwork skills, as well as a longer list of skills. How to Use Skills Lists You can use these skills lists throughout your job search process. Firstly, you can use these skill words in the description of your work. Communication Being a good team member means being able to clearly communicate your ideas with the group. You must be able to convey information via phone, email, and in person. You want to make sure your tone is always professional but friendly. Both verbal and nonverbal communication are important when working with a group in person. Conflict Management An important teamwork skill is being able to mediate problems between team members. Listening Another important part of communication is listening well. You need to listen to the ideas and concerns of your peers in order to be an eective team member. Reliable You want to be a reliable team member so that your coworkers can trust you. Respectful People will be more open to communicating with you if you convey respect for them and their ideas. The aim was to sensitize the students towards their role in addressing global environmental challenges at grass root level. The children collectively participated in doing the beautiful craft work based on Earth Day. Role plays on how Mother Earth can be saved from global warming were enacted. To mark this day and to emphasize upon the need to save trees, the children were involved in speaking slogans like 'SAVE EARTH' and ' GO GREEN’

We all use shape as a way of identifying and organizing visual information. Very early, your child begins to make a connection between familiar objects and their shapes. Changes in these can be surprising. For example, at first he may not want to eat round waes or square cookies. He can easily integrate the new shape into his pan the on of shape knowledge. Shapes are also symbols. Not surprisingly, the early recognition of shapes relates to your child's ability to read symbols otherwise know as letters. Capital letters are made mostly of circles (or parts of circles) and lines. Don't worry if they are not perfect at first. It is most important for him to get the "feel" of the shapes in his hand before it is perfectly represented on paper. This shape drawing will naturally lead to writing letters. Competitions between the students was conducted to keep a check on their identifying capability in primary section.

S T U D E N T S ’ C O R N E RS T U D E N T S ’ C O R N E RS T U D E N T S ’ C O R N E RThe most important factor that aects the student life is the value of time. Being a student we should do everything on time as it never waits for anyone. There are dierent stages in our life. One of these stages is student days. Student life is considered as the most important period of our life. Our future dreams, desires and hopes depend upon it. Student life is a period of preparations. It is a period of education. At this time, our mind is like clay. Clay is a soft thing and the potter designs various things out of the clay. Like clay, our mind can also be shaped in dierent ways. Once the pots are made their shape cannot be changed. Likewise, once our character is formed in one way, it cannot be changed easily. If we make right use and receive good education during our student life, we shall be successful in future. On the other hand, if we aren’t serious at this time, we can’t achieve our goals. Students, therefore, should be very careful. We must think seriously before every step we take. We must learn new things as much as possible at this period.Students are the future leaders of a nation. The prosperity of a nation depends on its students. We have a responsibility to acquire proper education, maintain good character and live a respectable social life. Obedience, diligence, regularity and forbearance are the important parts of student life. We must learn perseverance; it is the root of all success. If we are idle and cannot move on according to time, we can achieve nothing. The most important factor that aects the student life is the value of time. Being a student we should do everything on time as it never waits for anyone. Obeying one’s parents and teachers and respecting and loving one’s elders are the great virtues of a student. Another important part of a student’s life is his/her social life. A student must have good discipline and he/she must be co-operative with everyone. Social life influences our character in many ways. Many students enter college expecting good times, friendship and a good sense of direction. They soon find out that colleges come with challenges and struggles because of the great demands and expectations that are put on the importance of education. Students experience a great deal of stress many times. Thus, it is very important for them to manage a proper routine and stick to it. Student life is the best part of an individual’s life. At this time our main task is to study. We should stop thinking of anything else and concentrate on education. Education must be given the top priority. Anjali Singh Class - X

There is an urgent need to focus our attention on natural disasters that are taking place the world over due to damage to the environment. India and other countries are paying the price for environmental imbalance leading to natural disasters, which can be defined as natural phenomena, leading to extensive loss of lives and properties.Growing AwarenessThere is increasing consciousness across the world about the environment in the wake of natural calamities, but it is not making any dierence on the actual ground. Only lip service is being paid to environmental protection. There is a mounting concern on environmental imbalance in India too and its impact on the individual, society and the life of the nation. But the eorts to reduce the environmental imbalance are proving to be inadequate.Human Factors aiding Natural DisastersThere are human factors too for environmental imbalances. Prominent among them are a growing population giving rise to more human needs and consumerist tendencies. Both of these have an impact on natural resources and the sustainable capacity of the country is shrinking. Cutting of trees, land mines, misuse of water and atmospheric pollution are serious threats to the environment. All these factors have led to increase in natural disasters. Rishika Sharma (Class- IX)

Recent uproar in parliament over derogatory speech made by union minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti has created lot of debate and discussion in print, electronic and social media. The words she used while campaigning for BJP in Delhi were definitely not acceptable. After such a strong protest and many be on advise of senior leaders of her party Ms. Jyoti apologized "if her comment hurt anyone". I wonder how come she expected that after using such derogatory language it won'r hurt anyone. The words she chose in her speech are definitely used to insult or hurt people who don't subscribe to her faith or political ideology, so I wonder why she phrased her apology like that may be because she didn't think that she said anything wrong and she was only apologizing because senior party leaders told her to do so. She not only used abusive language but also made speech with divisive content where she questioned people's patriotism if they don't believe in Hindu god Ram. She rightfully apologized for her abusive language (there was no option for her in this case) but she and her party defended her divisive comments and they don't even find anything wrong in her comments.

How Things Work is dierent. Conventional physics textbooks introduce basic principles and laws, and, using mathematics appropriate to the intended readership, show how these principles and laws can be used to predict or explain how things behave. Occasionally, end-of-chapter examples may hint at everyday things that involve the physics discussed.

Louis A Bloomfield, in this text for liberal arts students in the USA, has taken the opposite approach. He starts with an everyday object or situation and, by asking a series of `why' questions which invite the reader's participation in simple experiments, gradually reveals the underlying physical principles involved.

The book is very strong on repetition in the form of checks, summaries and reviews. The text is full of `check-your-understanding' questions to which answers are given at the end of the section. Also given at the end of every section are the new laws (and equations) ̀ discovered', how they apply, a glossary, review questions on the new concepts of the section, exercises which apply these concepts to new situations, and problems which require qualitative answers. Additionally, every chapter ends with a brief summary of the physics covered, a simple explanation of the experiments suggested at the start of the chapter, and even more questions called `Cases', which involve not only the material covered in the chapter but also that covered in earlier chapters.

FROM THE FACULTIES’ INK

Are we happier than our ancestors? It is a million-dollar question.

There are always two sides of a coin. Are We Happier Than Our Ancestors??? .The answer depends on how you look at things. In many ways, we are happier than our ancestors' say for example, the life-span was horribly low. Wars, farmers, floods and diseases took a heavy toll of human life. Child-birth resulted in death of many mothers and infants. The survival rate was quite dismal. T.B. plague and other epidemics killed people in thousands in a single year. Today advanced medical science has made child-birth quite easy and safe. T.B. and Plague are no more incurable diseases. In ancient times education was the privilege of only higher casts and the ruling classes. Farmers and workers were deprived of these basic rights. Slavery labour was quite common in practice. Today education is free up to secondary level. The invention of electricity, machines and new electric gadgets have revolutionised the art of living. We have more leisure and enjoy more material comforts. TVs, computers, cars, trains and aeroplanes have made this world a global village. But are we really happier than our ancestors? No, certainly not. The world is too much with us. We don't have leisure. We have lost touch with nature. Rarely have we time or inclination to enjoy the bliss of nature. We have become robots, insensitive and even feeling less to other fellow beings, animals and even environment. We are cursed and doomed to lead a life of tension and anxiety in the midst of plenty.

Life is a gargantuan heap of uncertainties and intricacies that are inevitable. It is an astonishing notion, which I frequently ponder upon but never able to derive out a satisfactory explanation, that it shouldn't have been said that way for the people being given places NEXT TO GOD. Yes, they have proved themselves to be successful SUPERSTARS not only on the screen but also in this life, the life which once used to be denied as being a bed of roses but now the situations narrates the opposite for THESE BEHOLDERS OF FAME and abysmal money.Rules are meant to be broken but burked so brutally. THEY are made to keep the society in order, do these HIGH HEADS form a separate one? Does the constitution has a special exceptions beneath each rule for THEM? Well, obligating a common life to sit behind bars for years with a crime to abuse a higher ocial for his wrong deeds is now what has started to define justice. In this time and age, being a common man has itself proved to be a crime of high degree. A small imbecility of a common soul enlarges to a severe punishment but a severe mistake of these people (with fame in their pockets) shrinks to a bail within 4 hrs. of punishment coupled with bundles of cash in crores which is held to compensate the lives of the victims. How many times will the poor have to die in one life (first on the footpaths and then under the so called UNBIASED justice of the nation)?Who except THESE PEOPLE with high standings and the unreasonable amendments in civic laws would deny that:These stars have engraved, a severe fault in the stars of the common man having shone theirs...
