For you fans of Bacon CheddarBeer bread, please be sure tostock up Friday, April 6. Thisis National Beer day, and weare holding over Bacon CheddarBeer one more Friday. Afterthat it’s back to CheddarGarlic, a bakery favorite tobrighten your weekends.

We are bringing back MexicanChocolate muffins andBatterbreads as well. If youhaven’t had a chance to trythese, stop in next Friday andtaste some. This recipeincludes Pumpkin and Pumpkinseeds as well as just a hint ofChipotle for just a littlewarmth. The pairing withChocolate couldn’t be better!

Bakery commitment to GreenPractices.

April 22 is Earth Day! This is a goodmonth to rededicate ourselves topractices that are gentle on our planethome. When we opened the bakery, wechose re-usable products whereverpossible. Our plates, cups, glasses,silverware and cloth napkins are notonly more of a pleasure to use butdon’t add to the growing mountain ofwaste we all produce every year.

We installed hand dryers in the bakerybathrooms and recycle as much of ourproduction waste as possible, and weplant butterfly and bee friendlyflowers to support those communities.

Several independent estimates I haveread say Americans use 500 millionplastic straws (equal to nearly 3million pounds!) and toss them eachday. This is a problem we can all beginto tackle. Have your drink without astraw or carry a stainless steel orsilicone straw (readily available forunder $10). We’ll help you pay for it bygiving you your fountain drink for$1.00 in April if you bring yourre-usable straw. Happy Earth Day!
