As found in the PicDic 3, lozenge pommetty is a period charge found in the arms of van der Vliet, c. 1370. This device was originally returned on the February 2020 LoD for conflict with Thomas of Meridies, Or, a cross between four crosses crosslet sable. A Permission to Conflict letter is enclosed with the packet and summarized here:

I (Redacted) SKA as Thonas of Meridies give (Redacted) SKA Cuthbert of Brom permission for their armory "Or, a cross between four continental panthers rampant sable" to look similar but not identical to my armory "Or, a cross between four crosses crosslet sable." There was extensive commentary at the kingdom level regarding the drawing of the animate charges in this design. "Blazoned as "continental panthers", this depiction was based on the seal of Rapoto III, son of Count Palatine Rapoto II of Ortenburg as shown above. There was division as to whether a panther could be drawn and identifiable without at least some incensing." This device is resubmitted with the following proof of variations in depiction of continental panthers. Non-Core Style Element: A Continental Panther, without incensing. Time and place: 12th century Carinthia Proposed Arms: Or, a cross between four continental panthers rampant sable The images are submitted as proof that panthers in this time frame were drawn without incensing. Please make note that all of the "additional depictions" of Continental Panthers (and one regular Panther) with significantly less incensing than the Mistholme standard above were from later than the 11th century. The sources submitted herein to support the flameless depiction are all from the period in question.

The Continental Panther is described in the SCA Pictoral Dictionary as "An incensed, long necked, horned, quadruped with spikey tail and clawed feet." ● Bernhard von Spanheim, Duke of Carinthia (r. 1202-1256). The Duchy of Carinthia was located in southern Austria and parts of northern Slovenia A long necked, horned quadruped with forked tail and clawed feet, and no flames. The gules in this armory is clearly the claws and horns of the beast. While the arms shown are modern artwork, the seal is from period and also depicts a lack of incensing.

● Ulrich III, Duke of Carinthia (r. 1256-1269). Part of the seal of Ulrich III survives, which depicts a long necked, horned quadruped with a forked tail and clawed feet, and no flames.

quadruped (perhaps with horns, the seal is worn) and a spiked tail. The tail looks to be spiked rather than forked, and the feet do not have claws, but there are no flames. This seal was used as the exemplar for the creation of the submission artwork. Modernly, the arms of Bayern continue to depict the panther without incensing.
