Easter Sunday

“He went about doing good and healing all those oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” (ACTS 10:38)

On this Easter Sunday, open your hearts to receive God’s love, mercy and forgiveness. God is love and we are made in

His image and likeness. Let our lives reflect His light to others. Pray for guidance on how to live your life and give

thanks for all that He has given you.

Dear Friends,

Welcome to Mass on this most holy feast of our Lord’s Resurrection! The raising of our Lord Jesus from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion is the cosmic event at the center of our Catholic faith. It marks the Lord Jesus’ victory over sin, death, and the devil and is key to the hope we have as his disciples. We—through faith and Holy Baptism—can share his victory.

Whether you are at Mass every Sunday or this is your first visit, we are thankful that you are here to celebrate with us. If you have been away from the Church for a while—or have never been baptized or an active member—we invite you to connect (or reconnect) with the Lord Jesus through our Skagit Valley Catholic churches and his Holy Sacraments. Confession times and information on some of our many programs are included in this bulletin. I am happy that you are with us and invite you to make this community of faith your spiritual home.

With joy on this feast of the Lord’s Resurrection,

Fr. Tom

Please remember the Church and school in your will.

UN ENCUENTRO CON CRISTO RESUCITADO

ENCONTRAMOS A CRISTO RESUCITADO; Oramos,

Si no estarás dispo-

Padre Tom

“Those who die in God’s grace and friendship live forever with Christ. Heaven is not an abstract idea, but a true and lasting relationship with God that is beyond all earthly description and understanding. We look forward to the resurrection of the dead and everlasting life by preparing now, in hope, for our passage from this life into eternal life.”

DIVINE MERCY NOVENA

On Easter Sunday everyone is encouraged to pray the Novena at

home. On April 22, 23, 24 and 26, we will pray the Novena after

the 12:15 Mass. On Thursday, April 25th, and Saturday, April 27th,

we will pray the Novena at noon. Sunday, April 28th, is Divine

Mercy Sunday.

Here are the steps of how to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet: Step 1 - Using

a regular set of Rosary beads, you begin at the cross by doing the sign of the

cross. (Optional Opening Prayer) You expired, Jesus, but the source of life

gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole

world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole

world and empty Yourself out upon us. (Repeat three times) O Blood and

Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy

for us, I trust in You! Step 2 - On the three beads of the rosary pray the Our

Father, the Hail Mary and the Apostles Creed. Step 3 - You begin each

decade with the Our Father beads by praying this prayer: Eternal Father, I

offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved

Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole

world. Step 4 - Complete the decade on the 10 Hail Mary beads by praying

this prayer: For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on

the whole world. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for each decade on the rosary beads

Step 5 - Once you have prayed all 5 decades, you finish the Chaplet by

praying the following prayer 3 times: Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy

Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. (Optional Closing

Prayer) Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of

compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in

us, that in difficult moments, we might not despair nor become despondent,

but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is

Love and Mercy itself. Amen.
