Meal Packaging Event — Thank you!
Over 150 4-H members, their families and Warren
County residents came together at the Blake Fieldhouse

packaging event. With the help of The Outreach
Program, volunteers packaged 6,000 Apple Cinnamon
Oatmeal meals and 6,000 Cheesy Rice meals in just two
hours! The meals were then donated to food pantries
within Warren County. The Service Project Committee
would like to thank all of the volunteers who helped to
make the meal packaging event a success and the
following sponsors for which the event would not have
been possible: Farm Credit Services, Peoples Savings
Bank, Capital City Fruit, Greater Iowa Credit Union, Tru
Bank, Warren County 4-H Youth Committee and the
Warren County Wranglers 4-H Club. Please watch the
newsletter later this year if you would like to be involved
in planning the next county-wide service project.
Warren County Extension and Outreach would also like
to thank Jackie Raffety and Cassandra Mosher for all
their help in making this event possible!

MISSION STATEMENT 4-H EMPOWERS YOUTH TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL, WORKING AND
LEARNING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CARING ADULTS.
All youth wishing to exhibit beef, sheep, goats, poultry, rabbits/ cavy, and swine at the Warren County Fair and/or Iowa State Fair must complete quality assurance training. YQCA uses an age-based testing system which sets the youth’s birthday as the expiration date. The cost for the testing is $12 online. NEW RULE: FSQA will no longer be accepted at the County or State Fair. Every youth must take YQCA online training yearly. The deadline to complete YQCA is June 1st.
Due to the current situation and taking the health and safety of Warren County youth seriously, the Culinary Challenge that was originally scheduled for April 11th,
will be rescheduled. Intermediate Leadership Team is looking at alternative dates and we will update you when a date is set. If you have any questions please contact Kathy McCoy.
